TV producer Stephen J. Cannell passes away at age 69.

Damn this sucks... RIP Mr. Cannell, thanks for such a long legacy of good entertainment. :(
 
The name Stephen J. Cannell was one of the earliest I can remember recognizing on TV credits, when he was IIRC story editor on "Adam-12." He had many good shows but "The Rockford Files" will surely go down as one of the all-time greatest. A groundbreaking show that effortlessly combined action, humor and strong character writing, and a huge influence on TV to this day. RIP, Mr. Cannell.
 
:weep: I grew up watching Cannell's shows. I don't remember him ever having a show that went bust.
 
Writer-producer Stephen J. Cannell will be missed, he made his mark in television history that will not be forgotten. R.I.P.:(

This really sucks. I feel just as bad as the day after Gene Roddenberry died when I read in a morning paper. I think we all grew up with some of his shows and concurrently after we did grow up. I remember every one of those plus a few others such as Tenspeed and Brown-shoe, Stingray and Renegade. Which he also had a starring role as the head of the bad cops in the last one.

Thanks a helluva lot Mr. Adventure, you got me teary eyed knowing we won't be seeing that video at the end of any new shows.......;)
 
This was shocking because I'd just been watching The A-Team movie when the news broke.
I'm glad I had the chance to see him on panels at the LA Times Festival of Books two years running.
