TV Movie release in NA: Feb. 8th!!

Woo!

Though the bottom of the package's front saying "Starring Paul McGann as The Doctor" looks kind of odd. Though I guess they couldn't really write "The Paul McGann Years." More like "The Paul McGann Hour."

More like "The Paul McGann Hour."

That sounds like a title for a variety show.

"And tonight's guests are...."

Still, I'm glad to finally be able to get this. I still have a VHS tape I recorded the original broadcast on. I don't know if it's any good, but I've got it.

^ I figured since that thread hadn't been touched in about a month and a half, and I didn't have time to dig it up (it was no longer available for me), I would just start a new one with the latest news.

looking forward to the McCoy/McGann comentary and the tour of the Tardis. always wanted to see more of the 8th Doctor's Tardis.

I thought the interior of the proto-TARDIS in the Lodger resembled the one in the TVM just a little.

I'm definitely looking forward to this. Yes, it wasn't perfect, but it's still an important part of DW history. My only complaint is they missed an opportunity to do some cross-promotion with Big Finish. This would have been a perfect chance to include a featurette on the Big Finish audio dramas that McGann has been doing for the last decade (technically making him one of the longest-serving Doctors, just not on TV). They could have even included a story as a DVD-ROM bonus.

I'm looking forward to The Wilderness Years featurette, though. I hope they include references to the fan and independent films that helped keep DW and its concepts alive (Downtime, Shakedown, the Stranger series, Cyberon, the Auton series, PROBE, etc).

As I mentioned in another thread, this is proving to be a good time for those of us who have been waiting decades (in some cases) for certain shows to come out on DVD: the Doctor Who TV movie, the Bionic Woman, the Six Million Dollar Man, Max Headroom - I swear I will not be surprised if the 1960s Batman series and The Wonder Years gets announced next!
