It's something quite hypnotic about watching industrial manufacturing....

you may enter two (2) avatars that depict any part of a production line, 200x200 pixel and safe for work.
my first entry... im not even sure what kind of gloves being produced here,
but i'll guess dishwashing gloves. (the soapy looking liquid are probably the reason why i can only think of that kind of gloves)

1. dishwashing gloves

and then....
2. stuffing fortune cookies with fortunes

entries will close on sunday, or later...

It's a cool idea but I don't see how it connects to TV & Media. This seems like a topic for Misc. There aren't many tv shows or movies that depict a manufacturing process.

yeah...., ditch this one and i will come up with something else , no problem:)

I'd have a second entry, as well.

Edward Scissorhands

I could also think of a couple more. Just mining the classic Disney and Looney Tunes animated shorts should deliver some promising results.

Edit: I now have ten alternatives with even more ideas. There certainly are enough examples of manufacturing in TV and Film to sustain an avatar contest. And the theme is fitting for the upcoming MayDay.

yes, i didnt think documentaries was excluded from this? is it usually?
and i think my entries are from "how it's made" and not from the show i first thought:)

Well, it's your contest, so you decide what is in- or excluded. And to be honest, I don't think we usually adress documentaries in these contests. With many contest themes, documentaries aren't even an option anyway.

lets also alow documetaries this time then, the entries so far that are non-docu's are harder to find so they obviously will get bonus points (which you cant use for anything)

I won't be participating this week, but three that come to mind in case someone else is stumped for ideas:
  • the opening credits to WIlly Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
  • the famous bit from I Love Lucy where Lucy and Ethel try to keep up with the conveyor belt at the candy factory
  • whatever the heck all those workers are doing with the giant clock hands in Metropolis
