Happy New Year, all! It's a fresh new year, a time we traditionally think of in terms of new beginnings... until reality comes crashing down around January 2 or so! 
So in light of that, our topic for this week will be "A Fresh Start". Your entry can be any character who is starting something new: a new job, a new place to live, a new romance, a new diet, whatever you like.
Standard avatar contest rules apply: entries must be no more than 200 x 200 pixels and 1MB, and must be SFW. Please identify your character, what show/movie/etc they are from, and what is the new thing that makes them eligible for this contest. I'll allow SF&F for this contest, but no Star Trek, because I like being arbitrary like that!
Each person may enter up to three avatars. The contest will be open for about a week.
