TV Guide Synopsis Reveals an Interesting Cameo and Tidbits!

i don't even understand the last two questions.

vice presidential candidates are selected by the presidential candidate to be their 'running mate' in the election campaign before becoming president. it's not like the guy with the second amount of votes becomes VP!

At least, not anymore.

I prefer to simply ignore the "elect" part of the President-elect line; after all, he acted like the President and was using Air Force One. Only the sitting President's plane uses that call sign, and only when he's onboard.

You know, I generally go with this, but since people won't let it go, let's just say that GWB tagged along and they kept him handcuffed in a closet on the Valiant with a sock in his mouth to make he wouldn't grope the Toclafane or anything.

Or we could just assume Winters bungled his own title when in the presence of the first alien lifeform he'd ever met.

Unless of course someone else used the president-elect line, in which case I got nothing.

Maybe we could really, really stretch it and say that Winters was the sitting president who had just been re-elected and the episode takes place between the election and his second inauguration...at which point technically he would both be president and president-elect...

Or not. The president-elect does not become president until he is sworn in by the Chief Justice. If the president-elect was (GOD FORBID) shot on the stand before being sworn in, the sitting president would still be president until the vice president-elect could be sworn in.
