TV Guide/Karl Urban: New "Star Trek" is "Reinvigorated"

Matt, lets get this straight.

If all established history, character relationships & termininology remain the same - but there are some cosmetic changes such as costume & ship design, updated special effects and the modernisation of some of the props - then that constitutes a reboot in your eyes?

Is that what you are saying?

Any cosmetic change indicates a reboot?

I'd just like you to clarify your position on this.

The archetypes remain. The characters are played by different people.

This is closer to the new Battlestar Galactica style of reboot, than the New Voyages style of relaunch. Anyone can see that.

Recasting alone does not indicate reboot. Does not. Roles have been recast throughout history. That's a nonsensical answer.

You havent answered my original question.

Do cosmetic changes constitute a reboot?

Faithful to character archetypes, rebooting in a theater near you, 12.25.08.

Sounds great to me. And for anyone upset about the rebooted franchise, fear not! By the time people are tired of Star Trek 2.0, we'll have CG good enough to recreate or continue TOS/TNG/etc. flawlessly. By 2040 we may even have holodecks to live Star Trek in, whichever version of the series you'd like.
You were asked to knock off the reboot trolling stuff here Matt.
You refuse to.
Now you have a warning for trolling, since your sole purpose in doing this reboot thing seems to be to piss off just about the entire forum.

I'm also closing this thread. I don't know where reboot comes out of the article linked anyway.
