Turnabout Intruder-last TOS-R ep??

So this weekend we get Janice Lester and 'The Turnabout Intruder' ep. Is this the last new TOS-R episode?

I think it is the last one for this season. "The Cage" was delayed until next season, probably airs in September.

So the concept of "season" as it relates to TOS-R isn't the same as the original seasons of the show? Why are they ordering it differently?

I'd also venture a guess that after every F/X heavy episode, they'll run at least a couple that don't require as much of the remaster treatment...a time-management concern.

What's left? I can't seem to recall any that haven't been remastered yet.

Yeah, they still have "The Cage" on tap for Remastering and airing. After this weekend, 79 of the 80 episodes will have aired. But it's all BUT finished now. Helluva ride these past 23 months, huh?:p

I was hoping the syndicated revenue was gonna be used to fund new episodes.

Or CGI the Original Trek cast over the characters in old Space 1999 and Buck Rogers episodes.

How about Mission Impossible when Nimoy was on...just have "MR. SPOCK" dubbed in whenever anyone calls him by name.

I think they originally intended to run TOS-R in 2 seasons (of 40 episodes each). But with the new movie coming out it was logical to extend it to a 3rd season, so they held back "The Cage" to kick off that season. And they probably repeat the best episodes after that.

oh, shit, I missed that one last night!

and yes, don't tell me I missed much. I actually kinda like this ep... campy acting by the Shat and all. I think he was perfect as Janice, and I loved that "Mutiny" scene between Scott and McCoy and Spock in the corridor. dammit, I wanted to see it again and I gave my dvds to my dad. oh well.

You speak in future tense?

As mentioned, with The Cage set to air next year, all the other episodes have been seen at least once, ending with Turnabout Intruder this weekend.

Except for The Cage, TOSR is done with "first run".

I....

I'm gonna miss it. :(

I'm wondering if there was also the factor of the LENGTH of The Cage.

Uncut, it's something like 65 minutes. There was even the promise that it'd be AIRED uncut.

If you cut it back to 45minutes, it suffers far worse than any other episode, obviously. They only had about 51 minutes of material, so only lose six. The Cage would lose a full 20 minutes. I've seen it aired cut. It's a horror.

Some have suggested they'll either have to do it as a two parter, with a huge amount of the footage running both weeks, or they'll have to get every station to agree to an extra half hour of air time for that particular episode...not an easy thing to do.

Wonder how they'll finally handle it? Personally, I'm hoping for a two parter with a lot of the footage being seen both weeks, with a "last time" bit on the second week that maybe takes nearly as long to tell as the footage its givning the rundown on.

I'm actually trying to figure out the numbers for this...

I recall reading speculation that "The Cage" would be run full length in some way, but I don't think that this came from anyone connected with CBS. My own speculation is that it will be the cut-down syndication version. Presumably, the full-length version will come out on DVD.

No.

It was an offical statement that it'd be run uncut.

As for them running the cut version in a single week, why does that seem more likely than doing it over a two week period?

Maybe three weeks of half hour episodes? With running times for 1/2 hour shows in the 21 minute range, it would work.

An uncut "Cage" requires a 90-minute time slot because the original episode runs 63 or 73 minutes without any commercials.

I've always liked the episode... it's the only time Kirk gives Kirk The Kirk Chop (tm)!

^ yes, but what I love the most (and I do hate the overall message about women and Starfleet, make no mistake about that, but as a drama this was interesting) is the fact that Kirk knew his friends would not fail him. they say TOS ended badly. I disagree. the third season may not have had the gems as in the 1st and the 2nd, but much of the time it got the overall message right.
