I CAN STAND IT NO LONGER! (forgive me, MvRojo!)

:D

Star Trek in at #7 (lucky seven!) again at 538,205, final number, according to SBD.

Lowest week-to-week drop in the top ten...

Now it is a matter of survival.

I'm usually an "accept no substitutes" sort of guy, but I suppose this thread will have to do. :p

Well, now that Transformers is here, it's probably going to blow all the competition out of the water at the box office, but Trek has had a damn good run. As I've said before, everything else it makes from this point on is just gravy.

:bolian:

The drop from Monday was expected, with the loss of IMAX theaters.

It would be interesting to see how Trek does Wednesday with Transformers out in full force. Tr2 made $16 million just from the midnight shows.

The reviews for Transformers aren't being kind at all. I wouldn't be surprised if it has no legs at all.

But since it's the same genera and the same target audience, it might be Trek's curtain call.

Awesome....241,300,000....should be over 242 million by Thursday's numbers....which means a chance at 245 million at the end of the weekend. 260 is going to be tough.

Yeah, Transformers is going to be huge if the midnight showings are any indication. It should make something like $160-170 million by Sunday. Maybe people wanting to see Tranformers 2 in IMAX who find sold-out showings will go watch Trek rather than the standard Tr2. Doubtful though.

Sorry about not posting a thread this morning...I went out early today.

Daneel, nice list; thanks! I guess I didn't realize Trek was third worldwide, what with bemoaning our offshore shortcomings.
