Trek dropped back to #7. The film increased close to 9% from Monday; only its second Tuesday increase. Dropped 21% from last Tuesday, which is good, but similar to several other films in release.

Quick question: Should we continue these daily threads or should we just do a weekly one that we just update as the week goes on?

A surprising surge of interest in "Imagine That" is these numbers hold up. I kind of expected that movie to keep dropping in the charts.

2. UP - 3,950,000 - 195,036,000

Looks like Trek might have dropped by to #7, but it depends on how the final numbers pan out. The film increased close to 10% from Monday; only its second Tuesday increase. Dropped 20% from last Tuesday, which is good, but similar to several other films in release.

Not sure--I know I look forward to updates at the BBS even though I can scour the sites for the info (and do anyway); I enjoy the info and insight that accompanies each new thread.

If there is a box office consolidation thread, make sure and update it though... want to keep the beach-ball bouncing at this Trek concert as long as possible, right?

I know I'll be looking and posting.

How about... Star Trek Box Office: Lion in Winter

:p

Personally I think daily new threads are a bit too much.

I say start one thread, keep posting the updates there and keep whatever conversation in one thread.

I actually look forward to his daily threads. but either way is fine by me. whatever the board likes...

A weekly thread would be good, I recommend it get stickied.

Good Tuesday for Trek. I am starting to think Hangover might gross more than Trek. UP is gonna do $300 million.

I like marketing threads; the daily box office will be over soon enough, so I vote we keep doing fresh ones till it's over. It adds some excitement.

I like reading them daily. How about a definite end date for the daily reports? Daily reports until it falls out of the Top 10.

I also like the daily threads.

Kind of surprising to see an increase over yesterday's numbers. A few more similar upticks and we'll be at $250M before you know it... ;)

Daily until Transformers weekend.

Yeah, although it would be... fascinating... to see how devastating that stretch will be to the remaining days or weeks of Star Trek...

What do our resident box office experts think?

(I'm thinking MvRojo and Cyrus, although others may apply)

Final Number: $734,421

A pretty substantial uptick--8.9% from yesterday...most weekday-to-weekday increase ... only 20% down from last Tuesday.

This movie refuses to go quietly into the night... :)

I like the daily threads too. Although I guess it's MvRojo's call since he's the one that puts in the work :techman:

I don't often have anything to say, but I do like reading the details - and also the conversations about the business side of things that follow.
