TSFS Line-by-Line

I was gonna wait a day or two to start our next line-by-line thread after the amazing success that was the TMP thread, but I just can't wait.

This one should be easier since there's only ONE version of the film that I'm aware of.

To reiterate for anyone new, jump in at any time with the next line of the film. You can post as many times as you want, as long as your posts are separated by at least one other person posting a line in between.

We're going primarily for spoken dialogue here, though occasional information about what's happening on-screen, or computer graphics, can be helpful. Only one line per post please. A "line" is defined as one character speaking without interruption.

A sunrise of a new world, a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish, he did not feel the sacrifice a vane or empty one. Of my friend i can say this,....Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels...his was..the most....human.

SPOCK: (or Leonard Nimoy) Space the final frontier,...these are the continuing voyages of the starship Enterprise. Her ongoing mission, to explore strange new worlds,.. to seek out new lifeforms,..and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before.

Kirk: USS Enterprise, Captain's personal log. With most of our battle damage repaired we're almost home. Yet I feel uneasy, and I wonder why. Perhaps it is the emptiness of this vessel. Most of our training crew have been reassigned, Lt. Saavik and my son David are exploring the Genesis planet which he helped create, and Enterprise feels a home with all the children gone. Nope. More emptier even than that. The death of Spock is like an open wound. I feel I have left the noblest part of myself back there on that newborn planet.

 

[Lord Garth]

Kirk: Status, Mr. Sulu.

 

[Captain Mike]

SULU: On course Admiral estimating spacedock in 2.1 hours.

 

[Jeyl]

Kirk: Very well. Mr. Checkov I'll need a pre-approach scan. Take the science station please.

 

[Captain Mike]

CHEKOV: eeerr...Yes sair.

 

[Jeyl]

Kirk: Uhura, any response from Starfleet on our Project Genesis inquiries?

 

[Captain Mike]

UHURA: No sir, There is no response.

 

[Jeyl]

Kirk: That's very odd. Scotty, progress report.

 

[Captain Mike]

SCOTTY: It's almost done sir, you'll be fully automated by the time we dock.

 

[Jeyl]

Kirk: Your timing is excellent Mr. Scott. You fixed the barn door after the horse has come home. How much refit time till we can take her out again?

 

[DeVario]

SCOTTY: Eight weeks. But we don't have eight weeks, so I'll do it for you in two.
