My comment was based on the fact it's Trek movies and they're not making them any more. Why would that be? Oh... Of course...
DVD is a dying format.
This does tick me off a bit, since I decided to not even think about buying a blu-ray machine until they stopped making regular DVDs.

Well, we bought an HDTV format player early -- and first season remastered TOS in HDTV. So now we're kinda steamed and are waiting until blu-ray players get cheap.

She's not. It's just pure fan speculation based on her last name and a hint of a Scotty/Uhura romance in Trek 5.
She would have to also be a hell of a lot older than what she was in TNG if she was Scotty and Uhura's daughter.
Which is why she absolutely must be their granddaughter. It is the only explanation.
I've just ordered all the ST movies on DVD and I kept wondering if I had seen TFF because I didn't have any memory of it. Now I'm sure I've never seen it
The Preservers will also be screwed if Tryla Scott isn't born since they were the ones who placed her in command of the Renegrade. And that shoots down any fan theory that she deserved to be captain by working hard and being the best. The Preservers simply wanted Scotty and Uhura's granddaughter to be an instrument of them. Yep.
She got taken over by brain parisites and I think got blasted by Picard and Riker, so there.
