From Zap2It -

The Authority tries to gain public favor; Nora attempts to convert Eric; Jason finds a mysterious scroll; Pam and Tara must obey a new sheriff; Sam and Luna search for Emma; Russell seeks a higher calling.

Two weeks from tonight, we'll be seeing the season finale, and the last episode under Alan Ball's reign. Is there any interest in doing one of those "live chat" type threads for the finale?

Good to see Russell being the bastard he is. I'm not quite sure where they're going with Bill and Eric. Nice to see Jason do something useful. I thought it did a good job moving some plot threads.

I do wish they'd stop with the random vamp speed bursts. Honestly, I would've done that different from the start, I don't mind vamps being fast but not instaspeed quick which IMO just looks silly.

My god.. Hoyt :(

I honestly choked up at the scene.. it was so sad seeing Hoyt cutting out his first love and his best friend out of his life because he can't bear the pain.. and then there was Jason's breakdown afterwards which just put the nail into the coffin of the entire thing :(

Russel finally snapping was predictable.. he was always doing his own thing and being part of the Authority went only so far as it was beneficial.

Could Eric and Bill be more lousy actors? Seeing the dread on their faces when they realized the danger Sooki was in immediately ripped down any charade they built up.. luckily no one seemed to notice.

Flamin' Lafayette.. as hilarious as ever and Tara going medieval on Goth Boy was also awesome.

Definitely one of the best episodes of the season and maybe one of the most heartbreaking scenes of the entire show.

In a strange twist of fate...Gave this a 5, because it made me do the ugly cry twice and LOL twice, and on top of that, we've removed some characters. Hoyt's story is, I hope, over - please, oh please don't let him get captured by vampires on the hunt; let him go peacefully into the night. Godric appears to be gone again - or Godric's ghost or whatever that was - unless they can resurrect of course; the Coroner is gone now too. With Hoyt, I'm thinking his Mom will retain her current level of involvement, so I'm counting her in that too. It's time to draw these characters together and get to the core cast. Tara has come a long way now too - girl has some spunk. Poor Ginger, she's glamored out of her mnd, but such a funny thing. I'm thinking that the big twist is going to be that Russell is going to have a little problem when he goes after Sookie - namely Sook is "spoken for" by way of a contract. A guess says Warlow will be found for her own protection from Russell; if Russell challlenges Warlow, the contract is violated and somehow the Fae will find themselves drawn into the Vampire Apocalypse.

So no PTSD boy and Smoke Monster fallout? No Alcide? Hoyt shipped off to Alaska? Best episode of the season just because they jettisoned all that shit. I'm still not thrilled with all the plot lines they've been running, but I enjoyed the ep quite a bit. Also, poor Phlox. You don't need to kill off minor supporting characters IMO, but any cast thinning is hardly a bad thing at this point.

Alright, two more characters down, about 20 to go. Not really sad to see Hoyt go - I didn't say anything before, as it was a pretty big spoiler, but when I talked with the actor at Dragon*Con last year, he told me about it. They specifically didn't kill him, so they can bring him back at any time. Which may be in 2-3 years (assuming the show is still around).

That's two minor recurring characters (not counting Tara) who have been Vamped this year. Steve and the coroner. It's been some time since we've seen him. I'm not sure why they're bringing minor recurring characters back to kill off, when they have a surplus of regulars they can kill off easily. Deuce, now Phlox. Who is next?

Sorry I didn't get to this last night. I had an early night, as today was a pretty big day. I got to meet the President today. Pix are up on my facebook.

After that, of COURSE I'm going to give the episode 5 stars. I'm kind of in an "I like everything" sort of mood.

Bill not seeing Lilith on the monitor means he's now faking it, bringing in Jessica, so that the two with Eric and Nora can try to take out Russell and Salome. The prospect of an end to the Authority storyline brightened even this part of the episode for me.

Hoyt's farewell was touching, Tara's defiance rousing, Steve's everything funny. Loved how Russell finally stopped putting on the accent for some reason.

Superior outing.

I thought last night's episode was pretty good. I thought the wrap up (?) to Hoyt's storyline was pretty touching and well done by all involved. It's about time Russell showed his true colors, but even despite that, there's something off about the Vampire Authority storyline. I find Sam, Luna, and Emma's story more engaging and I am glad they are converging. I can't wait until Newlin gets his, even though I've enjoyed his character for the most, he put his name on a stake last night. Tara wielding the sword was pretty cool and unexpected. Just when they make me want to wince at Tara's characterization or dialogue the show turns around and does something cool like that. Lilith is super hot, truly a red queen.

This season has been on a swinging pendulum, but the last two episodes have swung in the right direction. I hope they can continue swinging that way.

Bill not seeing Lilith on the monitor means he's now faking it.

Or she's not real.

Or she doesn't transfer to film.

Group psychosis?

Telepathic gastalt?

It's not Lillith but something else that Glamours this response for line of sight, yet still invisible.

Bills not faking anything yet, but he's beginning to wonder if hes being played and how he's being played?

Aw, they killed Molly. :( I liked her. And she never even got to get naked.

This was definitely a great episode, if only for Hoyt's glamoring and Jason's crying. This is why I watch True Blood. It's total off-the-wall burlesque, but they treat the characters with respect.

The bit with Godric and Lilith was fascinating. I suppose it is just a hallucination, but it would be great if Lilith turned out to be real and Eric found a way to bring Godric back from Vampire Heaven to defeat her. Especially if the conflict amounted to a battle for the hearts and minds of vampires, rather than just fighting with fangs and stakes.
