Finally caught up with this since I'm too poverty stricken for HBO. Not a bad episode, but True Blood suffers from too many storylines at once. It's been a problem for quite some time.
When did Bill become such a bastard? The true death because he got caught on camera? A lot of vamps will die in the age of youtube and cell phone cameras. Who is the true authority? Is it a mythical vampire figure? I don't know anymore. Also, Bill is a much more palatable character, ruthless or not, since he split from Sookie.
Tara and Sam still have ridiculously hot chemistry. I may be the only one with hope for Tommy; I think there's still potential for the character, especially if a spoiler I accidentally saw and its speculation comes to pass. Great storyline potential if they go the route the spoiler says.
What is the POINT of Alcide? Yes, he's handsome but they don't have the room to utilize the character in any meaningful way, so jettison the actor and the newly sober Debbie. They're dead weight.
Jessica, Jessica, Jessica....you crossed a line glamoring Hoyt. Her urges are understandable. She was too young to settle down for the rest of Hoyt's life. Ultimately, they can't sustain the relationship. She's scared to end it because of Hoyt going the extra mile and building her a home, but she must do it. Its the kinder course of action in the long run. Jessica's still a toddler, a toddler with very little guidance. Bill is really a shitty and neglectful father even if he taught her how to defend herself against werewolves.
The storyline to jettison? Jason and those RIDICULOUS raping, drug addict were panthers. Crystal and her disgusting lot are repulsive. Jason being raped isn't funny. Rape is never funny. How many little panthers is he going to sire? He's too dumb to take care of them all. There's potential in the Jason character, but they haven't a clue to how to utilize him. Do something better or let the character move away from Bon Temps for good.
Amnesiac Eric? That's gold. He and Sookie, wherever they end up, are gold when they interact. He ate her fairy godmother.
Good. She was a bitch anyway. I cannot wait to see who this ghost is that's going to possess the very willing Marni. Is it a human Eric fucked over? A witch he turned in during the Inquisition? I want to know. Skaarsgard, who is too good for this show in terms of talent along with Kristin Bauer and Sam Trammell, has the chops for a really good story. Then again, is there enough screen time to do it properly?
