We're all ready to go with a third episode. Seems like the series just came back on the air!

Sookie makes a deal with Eric; Bill counsels Jessica; Jason is cast as a savior; Tommy alienates Sam; Marnie tests her new powers; Pam gives Lafayette an ultimatum; Eric spoils a reunion.

Sounds exciting!

Holy fuck ... Claudine? Eaten by Eric? That, I did not see coming.

Tommy hasn't changed at all. I was hoping he would have in this gap year. Ah well.

Andy is going downhill fast.

There are moments in this show that I ask myself "What is the point of anything of this?" What is the point of the fairies and Claudine? The point of the year time jump? The point of the Tommy character? The point of Sookie being the prize of a tug of war between Bill, Eric, Alcide, and others to come? There are parts of this show that just seem pointless or dragging on.

"Snooki?"
"Sookie!"

And then Sookie was reading a Charlene Harris novel.

It's official, I do watch a soap opera, but at least it's a lively one.

I hope Jason's predicament changes soon, it's kind of tedious right now.

After the 1st episode of this season I was scared this show was done for me, but I have to say episodes 2 and 3 have really picked up and been enjoyable!

Can't stand the Jason storyline though, hope it improves. Also Sam and his bro aint much better.

As usual Sookie, Erik, Bill, Jessica are the best storylines.

Pretty much my sentiment.

I just loved the goofy, half apologetic and bloody mouthed smile of Eric in the last scene  (the only thing missing was a "i'm sorry!" shrug).

An addition.. god was Pam hot in this episode.. i've definitely got a crush on her (as well as Jessica ;)).

Not having read the books, I'm not clear on how this twist will change things down the road, but I though Claudine was a major character so obviously there will be differences.

Never though keeping Lafayette was a mistake, but taking other characters out of the game might have been a misstep... Guess we'll have to see how things shake out.

I was going to post analysis, but it's embarrassing enough to admit I watch this shit.

Wonder if Sookie will even notice Jason's missing?
Who are Jason's real parents?
Who on the writing staff ripped off the Chucky movies?

Why would they rip off the Chucky movies?

PS One fang, like Bucky Kat. But really, isn't the entertainment value of True Blood how nuts they get? Which means one fang is really the "good" score?

I agree I had thought of that while watching, why is no one looking for Jason?

I actually found that scene really comical and think that's what they were going for? If not they failed miserably. But the doll with that baby and the mom freaking out and Jessica being relieved, lolz from me.

^^^Well, it is Jason. Jason's a man-slut, unlike Sookie who only puts out if it's TRUE LUV. So he deserves contempt, no?

But...How can a dinky burg like Bon Temps not miss the goddam cop car?!?!

One would hope she would eventually, but she's got her own issues going on right now.

Who are Jason's real parents?
Sookie and Jason have the same biological parents. They are full blood siblings, not half (or adopted) siblings.

It's just that, well, not every "part other" gets that spark ... Though Jason is older, he didn't get that "spark" like Sookie got. At least, not in the same way. His ability to charm the panties off any lady he sees is the only Fae ability he got.

Someone is looking for Jason, just not very hard because he's only been missing for 48 hours. If you didn't run into one of your notoriously slutty siblings for a day or two, would you be calling the police, especially if you were both fully growns adults who didn't live together?

MemoryLoss!Eric is hilarious - loving his scenes with Snookie, sorry, Sookie.

I don't much care for the WereTard storyline, although I do worry about Jason's lack of lavatory access.

"Jason, you sold my house to Eric Northman and I'm bunking with you til you get fix the mess you made!"

Sookie Stackhouse, when she found out Eric bought the house. Of course, Jason had to be written as outlandishly stupid because even though Sookie is supposed to be the bright one, she's as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Jason's only Fae ability is pretty much just a permanent Glamour which makes him irresistible to the opposite sex.

That said, I wonder if his blood would have similar if somewhat diminished effects for vampires.

ALSO.

If the Vampire Authority and it's council of researchers could synthesizing human blood, what's to stop them from synthesizing Fae/Human blood?

Now that we know (in the tv version) that it was the Authority that is responsible for TruBlood, it's a good question. My guess is that they don't have access to Fae/Human blood. Really, how many people know Snookie (smirk) is part Fae? Is that something Bill would have shared with them?

For the most part, Fae avoid vampires for the very reason we saw in this episode ... They are unable to resist their delicious blood.

But human blood, they have all the access they could ever need, freely available.

Who is in the doll? I betcha it's Chuck Norris.

He'll kill all the vampires with a single swipe.

Of his eyebrows.

They're not really synthesizing human blood. If they were, it wouldn't be as disgusting as it is (and we'd have likely heard more about how it's actually being used as a replacement for blood in humans, especially by the Authority's spin doctors). Instead, they've simply created something that can sustain them in place of human blood. Big difference.

And since they can't manage to create "real" fake human blood, how on earth would they manage to recreate magically infused blood?
