True Blood 2x09 - "I Will Rise Up" (spoilers)

Only this and three episodes left for the season, and things look to be getting exciting ..

From Zap2It: "Eric is able to get inside Sookie's head; Lafayette and Lettie Mae try to figure out how to get Tara away from Maryann; Hoyt defends his relationship with Jessica; Eric and the vampires defend their recent actions."

Among the cast list for this episode is Nan Flannigan (Jessica Tuck). To date, we've only seen her on the television, giving interviews and being on an episode of Bill Maher. We've never seen her interact with the other characters, so for the first time, we'll be meeting her "in the flesh" ... and I'm excited.

Crap. It didn't let me add the poll this week ... So, please say your rating in comments.

4 out of 5....a bit fillerish...which isn't all bad.

Hoyt and Jessica romance is either sweet or getting tiresome...not sure.

Eric is such a dick.

Creepy dream Sookie had. Hmmm. More of Anna topless. Mmmm.

Anna Paquin really turned on the eye faucets for this one.

Sam escapes and becomes the human fly.

Maryann...argh. Man, I want her to get her comeuppance. Forbes plays her fiendishness so well.

Lafayette...kicking ass. OH, HELL, YEAH. Best part of the show.

I would give it an A.

Lots of nice character interaction, small scene things that really made it intimate, sexy, informative and advanced it all.

Then there was Maryanne and he nuttiness.

The scene at the end was so beautifully done daughter and I were tearing up.

Can't wait to see Jason unleashed next week!

Even better than I thought it would be. Getting to see LaFayette finally kicking some ass, plus Tara's mom actually turn down a drink? Woah ... that's huge right there. She really does care about her daughter.

Something's going to happen with our dear Sammy. The one person he can possibly turn to is the one person everyone thinks is crazy, and finally Sookie's back in town to kick MaryAnne's butt.

All right. Nan just came across as an ice bitch. Nothing really special about her. I was hoping for a hell of a lot more with her. Instead, it was kind of "meh" ... but what followed was so sad.
And by that, I mean the end of the episode. They found a way to keep LaFayette. They could have found a way to keep Godric. He's really, really, really pretty to look at. He could have joined the cast. I wouldn't have complained.

Eric is mind-fucking Sookie. That's a little early. ;)

Hoyt and Jessica are such a sweet couple. In a series about vampires and fairies and shapeshifters, these two are the bit of normalcy upon which the rest of the characters are compared. Naturally, Hoyt's mother is a typical old hate-filled psychopath, stereotype through and through.

I'm going with a 4 star rating.

I dunno....the Eric stuff seems a little...off.

If he loves his maker so much, why hasn't he been with him for so long? If he's capable of that love, why is he such an asshole?

Sookie/Eric have 0 chemistry...I don't know if it's because Moyer and Paquin are a couple in real life or no, but it just seemed so forced.

And in his dream sequence with Sookie...he wants to make her a vamp? And what was Lorena doing there?

I loved, however, Lafayette awsomeness in capturing Tara from the devil herself :techman:
