Tron Legacy trailers

I'm actually kind of surprised this hasn't got a thread yet. :D I have to admit I think the trailers look pretty nice (the second one is the one I saw during my viewing of Inception) and I hope that the sequel winds up being good. From what I've read, it looks like they're making a good attempt to keep the continuity from the original intact.

Weird, I can't seem to recall those. But I've been out of town recently and my brain's working even less than normal. :p :D Would it be worth keeping this one open now that the trailers seem more regular in theaters, or should it be clanged?

Don't clang just yet. Answer me this question:

At about :15 into the second trailer, there's a shot of what is apparently the ENCOM headquarters building (you see the ENCOM sign from the back). What's that thing on top of the building? A giant laser?

I'm here on behalf of Disney, this trailer just went up a few minutes ago and I wanted to share it with you all first. They just released it at Comic-Con and it's got all new footage. Hope you enjoy!

At this point, I honestly don't even care if this movie is good. I want to see it because it looks beautiful.

"DisneyPictures"......beat me to it!

New trailer! De-aged Bridges looks pretty awesome...though I hope it'll be cleaned up a bit before release.

Movie continues to look incredible.

My most anticipated movie right now. I can't friggin' wait!

Same here. Visually this looks beyond incredible, and now with the little snippets about the story coming out... it's got me intrigued, and therefore encouraged.

This will be my first 3D movie and I'm looking forward to it, i cant think of a better way to enter the world of 3D movies than with a new Tron movie.

I don't know why, but I just cannot bring myself to care about this movie. I want to want to see it, but I don't.

Is it because I've never seen the original? Would that help?

Welllllll.... I don't know. The original is nearly 30 years old. It may not compare well with what you're used to seeing these days. The devotion to that original is derived much from being so much younger when it came out, and the film being rather groundbreaking in special effects. On top of that we have a couple of the cast members from that same original making appearances in this version.

Still, do yourself a favor and watch the original, see if that has any effect here.

^^ I tried that with my 10 year old a couple of weeks ago and he was decidedly unimpressed.. I was totally geeking on watching it and it just didn't live up to the hype I gave it for him. I broke down and bought the anniversary edition from a few years back.

I can see how dated and blah it might look to a new viewer (especially an adult)...

All that said, Legacy is the only movie I really care about seeing for the rest of the year.

It's unfortunate when effects that are old and outdated are enough to turn people off from movies. :(
