Tron: Ares

I don't think Tron 3 is a reboot at all, but that it does continue without the original characters, perhaps in a "Next Generation" manner. If anything, it might build on what came before with the Grid finally finding a way to invade the real world, IMO.

Then why call it Tron then?

Cheers,

Edit to add — Meant in regards to the movie being a ‘hard reboot’ and none of the original characters returning/in it.

To explore the concept but from a different perspective, like has been done with Wizard of Oz, Romeo and Juliet, Battlestar Galatica, etc.

Wow, some people must really zoom and check out every little detail.

I doubt it.

If Boxleitner bailed because they're not making the TR3N they were going to, Murphy is probably gone as well.
Oh I'm sure. It's not like Murphy is hungry for his big break these days.

Did Bruce bail or was he not asked?

Bruce was simply tired of waiting. TR3N was stuck in development hell and so he moved on.

And the entire reason Murphy appeared in the first place was to set up TR3N, so they have no reason to even ask him to come back for this one.
