Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

Ummmm...favorite moments? Happy thoughts? Anybody?

Soong needling Trip about T'Pol during the Augments arc. I thought that was priceless. The Plot Device Fates can break 'em up, but they still belong together--even Soong knows it.

Another way of looking at the "Romeo and Juliet" scene in The Augments is, it's a way of illustrating that T'Pol didn't realize the full fallout of her marriage, and she doesn't understand why Trip didn't go back to being a friend and spending time with her. She doesn't get what it's like to be a human with a broken heart. From that perspective, it's a beautifully poignant scene. (And nope, I'm not a big fan of plot-device angst, either.)

The Vulcan arc kept T/T apart except for one scene, but ooh, here tiz.

And of course we got Trip 'n' Soval...

And T'Pol trying to explain to Archer that domesticated sehlats are "smaller...slightly."

Just off the top of my head.

Bound had alot of nice Trip & T'Pol scenes .I think the end is one of my favorite scenes where Trip has the upper hand and finaly gets T'Pol to admit she wants him back. Her little smile after she kisses Trip and he leaves speaks volumes. She was happy for the first time in a long time.

I actually love that scene in "The Augments". I liked it the first time around, as heart wrenching as it is, but somehow it's gotten better over time for me. I really appreciate their acting in this scene. It's really great. I think it makes one really feel for them. The emotions are just sort of hanging in their air in that scene... like you can almost touch them or something. The bit where Trip says he was proud of her for what she did is just wow to me.

As for "Bound", yeah that little almost smile at the end is really a good bit of fun.

Hi Boushh I'm glad to see you posting here. I agree what you said about the Romeo & Juliet scene but they still care for one another and both were feeling sad.Especially Trip telling her he was proud of T'Pol for what dhe did for her mother.And the drastic change in their relationship was a big adjustment for them both.

About that scene, I do like it. I love T'Pol's body language during the whole thing. Of course, it is heart wrenching and I kind of wanted to smack Trip on the head after it, but oh well...

Thanks for posting the pictures Hopeful Romantic. Favorite maoments from Daedalus would be Trip trying to get T'Pol to talk about her Mother being killed during the attack at the Takareth sanctary and the Kir'shara , unfortunately he couldn't get her to open up to him . The sickbay scene with Phlox & T'Pol scene about her being cured of Panar syndrome and feeling so uncertain about her Vulcan beliefs due to the Kir' Shara and her feeling totally unsure of herself. The scene in engineering where T'Pol ask him to understand her reasons about the eventa that have happened on Vulcan he tried to support her. Observer Effect the scene where T'Pol asks Archer to notify her when and if Trip should awaken from his coma.You can see how relieved she is when Archer calls when he woke and how quickly she went to sickbay to see Trip was okay.Great scenes of friendship in that episode.

This is my all-time favorite episode of the series, so if I put down pictures for all my top moments, I'd be screencapping the whole show. And getting all sniffly again, to boot. So I'll just stick to Reanok's...

This moment when T'Pol starts to ask the question, and Archer answers it for her, with an encouraging smile...this is just such a wonderful touch.

The scene with Hoshi and Archer hurling practice insults at each other. Such a great vibe between them here--it shows how comfortable they are, how they've progressed in their relationship. Remember that fraidy-cat white-knuckle space traveler from Season 1?

The stare fight/insult/let's-see-who's-strongest handshake welcome for Ambassador Graal. With Trip trying not to laugh, and T'Pol rolling her eyes. Did I mention about the purple?...

I really like the Andorian arc and the fact the crew worked as a team to find out who was behind the attacks.Trip & malcolm sure had a difficult esacping off the Romulan drone ship.Trip has a difficult time seperating his feelings of duty and T'Pol being put in danger.

Don't you just love Trip's face as he is trying to understand T'Pol's tiny explanation of the bond? At that moment, all he understands is that he is somehow protecting him from the Orions, and that's it...

The Aenar was kind of like TGTMD for me...while Trip and T'Pol were going through their angst storyline...

...we also had noble, broken-hearted Shran...

and sweet Jhamel.

I thought their scenes together were marvelous, with a lovely, romantic tone.

"Be strong...for me." Wow, heart be still!

I wish we could have seen more of that developing love, but the scene in Sickbay was wonderful. Jeff Combs is great with big, blustery characters, but he is such a subtle and nuanced actor that I love it when he has a chance to do these quiet scenes. I'm glad TPTB gave Shran such a grand character arc in Season 4.

I like the Andorian storyarc in season 4 we got to see great moments with Trip & T'Pol and Shran and Jhamel and it made for some nice moments for jeffrey Combs and the actress that played Jhamel in that sickbay scene.Lovely pictures HR thanks for postingthem.

Well, if nothing else we're getting some pretty good screencaps out of this thread, eh? Thanks HR.

As for the topic more or less at hand, as much as I disliked the angst in S4, given Home, Trip's sour grapes and avoidance of T'Pol in The Augments is pretty consistant with how most guys I know would react to that kind of situation. Being around T'Pol would actually be pretty painful, so talking about their relationship would be that much worse. Not admitting to himself that they actually had any kind of a shot when things went down the way they did on Vulcan would just be a way to try and get away from that, and to get her to stop coming around him. At least that's the way I see it.

I didn't really watch ENT on Sci Fi tonight - kinda pointless when you have the DVDs - but I think they showed Afflcition amd Divergence tonight.

Again, no fan of angst, but in this case what really made me mad was T'Pol basically giving Trip the cold shoulder after he actually let his hopes get up. Trip being difficult right back certainly didn'ty help things either, but trying to get away by getting off the ship would be a pretty typical guy reaction to what went down. I just wished that if they were going to do it that they'd have actually let it go on for longer than the next couple of episodes so it would've been more meaningful to pretty much everyone involved, not to mention the audience.

Tonight's Sci-Fi airings were United, The Aenar, Affliction, and Divergence. So lots of Shran and a roller-coaster T/T ride-- from angst and separation, to the bond-thingy white space, to T'Pol approaching the newly-returned Trip to ask if he's had trouble sleeping.

And accompanying screencaps will have to wait, I'm afraid, due to Photobucket maintenance. Boo!



But in the meantime, I've just finished a new Malcolm-centric Affliction/Divergence music video...
