Any thoughts on her? She shows up in all the big event stories in WHO and SJA as the USA newsreader. She's played by Lachele Carl, who has a few british TV credits so she may in fact be British and not American. Any thoughts?

Apparently she has a role in the last two Tennant/RTD episodes that is in some way more substantial than previous appearances. (Insert your "RTD and the kitchen sink" joke here.) She was also interviewed by the Doctor Who Confidential team about being the only person other than David Tennant to play the same character in all four series and the specials.
I thought the character was called Mal Loup - I'm sure she was in Eccles' season anyway
that was another Bad Wolf clue created by the Rose/TARDIS merging.
She was only ever referred to as "Mal Loup" on a tie-in website. "Trinity Wells" is from the credits of "Turn Left" and "The Stolen Earth," but not in the episodes themselves.
"Mal Loup" only appeared as a name on Mickey's tie-in website; Gary Russell made some comments on OG indicating that it was never meant to be her actual name, and I think it was he who made sure that she finally got credited as "Trinity Wells" in Series Four.
I didn't know she was going to be in Torchwood; I really hope she makes it into the Moffat series at some point. He'll still need a newscaster, right?

yes apparntly its in the radio times cast list. (I read it on wikipedia, but had it confirmed on GalfieryBase)
will Moffat need a news caster? I would think so, its a good way to show global scale of an event without doing anything expensive, so im sure we will see Miss Wells in the Moffat era.

well, maybe GNN or whatever her network's called, has only got four newscasters who work in six hour shifts...
Suspect she may be an American who married a Brit and stayed here, as she's been playing Americans in British productions back to the 1980s - a newsreader in the Tim Burton Batmans, for instance (IIRC imdb, and if imdb is right!).
She just has the Kirk/Spock/Sulu/etc gene - the one which means crises only happen during your shift.
Or maybe AMNN employs a number of newscasters who are all clones of each other. One is named Mal Loup, one Trinity Wells, and so on!
