Trilogies you never finished

ive yet to see Star Wars episode 3, or Underworld 3. Along with Starship Troopers 3, however I didnt know there was a 3rd movie.

I have no interest in the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels, the Transformers sequels, or any Bond movie starting Daniel Craig.

Ive also not seen Oceans 13, or the sequels to Legally Blonde, or Free Willy 3

Well, I'll give JP III a chance, as it's playing on HBO. I'll DVR it and give it a shot.

I was talking to a friend about the way movie trilogies are made (like if they were filmed all at once or one at a time) and it got me thinking, which ones haven't you finished?

I have never watched PotC3 or Matrix 3 because I hated the second ones so much. I haven't watched 95% of LotRs 2 and 3 because they are so long and boring. I haven't ever watched Star Trek 3 (ST2 through 4 are the trilogy) fully because I keep falling asleep.

I never watched the third Jurassic Park, Matrix, X-Men, or Lord of the Rings movies even though I watched the first two for each.

I remember when Alien came out and I had towatch it on cable because I was too young to see it in the theatre. Even the trailer scared me. Heck, even the National Lampoon parody of it scared me. My mom and I went to see Aliens (what was she thinking??) and I loved it. And... I kind of stopped there. I think there are 4 of them, but I stopped at the second.

I made it through the first 3 Rocky movies but then gave up. Same with the first 2 Rambo movies (First Blood and Rambo II).

Never saw the third Pirate movie or the second and third Borne movies, but not for any reason against them. I still plan to see them.

I never saw the second or third Bourne movies, because I loathed the first one. It put me to sleep in a movie theater!

But most trilogies I finish, even when they end up not being that good (the Matrix sequels, the Pirates sequels, etc.). I saw all three LOTR movies even though I didn't like the first one. I didn't see the Jurassic Park sequels though.

I never saw The Mummy 3. The first one was pretty much a popcorn movie, and fun in its own way. The second tried to capitalize on that success and failed. The third went in a totally different direction and... I had no interest.

I forgot about the third Mummy film. I didn't finish that trilogy either for pretty much the exact reason as you.

-I never finished the Matrix trilogy. I saw the first one, but passed on the last two. I just kind of liked how the first one ended.

-Never saw the last two Underworld movies. In this instance, I just never got around to 'em.

-Lord of the Rings. Saw bits and pieces of this on TV, never saw the whole thing in its entirety.

-Blade. Saw the first one, skipped the last two.

Same here. I saw the first Lord of the Rings movie and was so bored (aside from briefly perking up during the scene with Orlando Bloom shooting arrows) that I couldn't bring myself to watch the next two. I'm a little curious after the third one won best picture, so I might still check them out someday. It's hard to motivate myself, though, when there are like a million other movies I'm more interested in seeing.

After the second Matrix movie, I was really excited to find out what would happen next, even though I was kind of annoyed by the anti-climatic overload of philosophical mumbo jumbo at the end of the second one. I still thought it had a good cliffhanger, though. I left the theatre planning to watch the third one on opening day. Then the reviews were so vicious I lost interest and have not regained interest since. I saw a bit of it on TV once (action sequence towards the end) and thought it looked pretty stupid.

I can understand watching the 1st of a trilogy and then stop because you don't like what you saw BUT to watch two of the 3 and then to never found out the ending seems strange for me...Would drive me crazy knowing 2/3 of a story.

That would depend on the trilogy. It's not like The Lost World left me with a cliffhanger ending Jurassic Park III had to resolve.

Like I said, everybody told me to avoid the third Blade movie like the plague so I did. It was interesting because the second movie was equally as good as the first.

PotC 2 and Matrix 2 were such crap I didn't give a rats ass what the "writers" planned for the third part. I rather not waste anymore time on that bullshit.

Pity you don't feel like that with SG  joke*** ;)

I can understand franchises with seperate plots per movie but when its all connected it some way would bug me, just rent and wait 6 months don't have to be cinema.
