According to what Ezri says in "Shadows and Symbols" wannabe Hosts have to go through years of training and preparation, though there is never anything specific said as to how many years that is. Are there any novels, or others sources, that shine some light on just how long Initiates spend at the Symbiosis Commission before even being considered viable candidates to be Joined?

Jadzia makes it sound as though maybe she was in the program from a very early age. Which makes sense as at 28 she was already joined and a lieutenant in Starfleet. Not to mention she went through the initiate program twice. Thankfully, she makes it clear she was a woman by the end of the program, so we don't have to go super dark with the Curzon backstory.
