And (not counting TAS) there have only been 2 episodes that had tribbles in the plot.

Don't need either but I'd like a return of characters like them. Smugglers, snake oil salesmen, Luddite colonists, anachronism loving lawyers, hippies eschewing the safe technology bubble of the Federation, a society of real diversity, not a bunch of elitists made of starfleet officers, politicos, and scientists. Bring back the lowlifes, underdogs, and malcontents.
