Trese is a six-part animated series on Netflix, adapted from a series of graphic novels created, published, and set in the Philippines. The lead character, Alexandra Trese, is voiced by Shay Mitchell in the English dub and by Liza Soberano in the Tagalog version. (Although the lead character recites her spells in Tagalog even in the English version.)

There's also a companion video on Netflix called Trese After Dark, in which a more behind-the-scenes look at this adaptation is offered.

Has anyone here watched this series (and/or its companion video) - and, if so, would you consider it to be good, bad... or merely Trese-meh?

I read the comic years ago in a short story collection, Manila Noir.

I enjoyed the anime. As a Fil-Am, I was happy to see Netflix adapt this into a cartoon and I enjoyed what they did.
