TrekWeb has a sneek peek of the Star Trek New Frontier mini

Re: TrekWeb has a sneek peek of the Star Trek New Frontier m

Nope, I didn't base the design of the Paradox on that alternative Defiant concept, although I can see the similarities at the front of the hull and with the shape of the pieces connecting to the nacelles. My research didn't run as deep as looking at abandoned ship designs (good idea though), it's just boring old coincidence I'm afraid. My design was based on Peter's description and some existing Trek ships. As for the covers the characters from left to right are Shelby, Calhoun, Kebron, Burgoyne, Si Cwan, Lefler, Xy and Jellico.

Ohhh....duh, Xyon! Interesting.

Welcome to the Trek Literature forum (and TrekBBS in general), Stephen!

Re: TrekWeb has a sneek peek of the Star Trek New Frontier m

I take it that's young Xy and not older Xyon

Re: TrekWeb has a sneek peek of the Star Trek New Frontier m

Yep TigerBalt that's young Xy (although he's in his early 20's now thanks to his uniquely speedy biology) not Xyon, son of Calhoun. And thanks for the welcome Emh. If anyone has any questions about the New Frontier comics let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Re: TrekWeb has a sneek peek of the Star Trek New Frontier m

This gets more and more interesting every time. I sure can not wait to see this comic once it comes out. I'm actually wondering what Tania Tobias will look like since we only got to see a drawing of her in the TNG Academy series books. I also can't wait to see what the bridge of the Excalibur will look like. I'm sure happy about this coming out. Would be interesting to see more New Frontier issues.

I would imagine that it would look much like the bridge of the Enterprise-D from Generations(but hopefully better lit).

Tania looks pretty much like she does on the Academy books. The lighting on the bridge leans more towards the bright look from the series.

We can only hope that this series sells well enough for IDW to do more New Frontier comics! I love the artwork so far. I really would like to get a copy of the cover with PAD on it.

So far I'm pretty happy with what I've seen. The only real issue I have is that I prefer the Calhoun from the book covers over this one, but other than that I really like the way the other characters look.

They're fantastic! Can't wait to to hold the first issue in my hands

Little Red Riding Hood had a growth spurt. :vulcan:

Re: TrekWeb has a sneek peek of the Star Trek New Frontier m

Very nice, thanks for sharing. Who is that behind Peter David on his cover?

Re: TrekWeb has a sneek peek of the Star Trek New Frontier m

That's the Fallen Angel from... Fallen Angel. Great series, awesome charakters! I would love to see Liandra on the Excalibur in a possible crossover.

I'm personally hoping for the Odyssey design from the Jem Hadar.
