Trek's lowest moment

For me it has to be Data and Joe Piscopo making spastic noises on the holodeck in the name of 'comedy' in "The Outrageous Okuna".

They were doing Jerry Lewis shtick. Apparently they wanted Jerry as The Comic, but there were schedule conflicts so they got Joe instead. So naturally, if you can't get the guy you want, steal his act.

Low points for me were VOY: Fair Haven and VOY: Spirit Folk, for perpetuating Irish stereotypes. I don't know how they ever thought that was a good idea.

They watched Shore Leave.

Personally, I was okay with the Row, Row, Row Your Boat, but I absolutely cringed when Picard and Worf were singing "A British Tar" from HMS Pinafore, complete with LCARS displaying the karaoke bouncing ball. Ugh.

If we're talking individual moments and not entire horrible episodes.

-Daniels tells Archer that every six year old in the 29th century can send a message to the past with the contents of his school desk.
-Lonely Among Us aliens hunt and cook each other
-Turnabout Intruder: "If only she could be happy being...only a woman"
-NuSpock screams "KHHAAAAAAAAN"
-Last Output Ferengi jump around like monkeys
-Rom: "I WAAANT MY MOOOGGGIIIIEEEE!"
-Field of Fire: "Look Ezri, what do you see? Smiling pictures? That means the killer must be a Vulcan".
-Dr Phlox scrapes his tongue.
-"Drugs...make you feel good!"

Oh, to answer the OP's question: "The Outrageous Okona" was a bit dull, but nothing worse than that. Its main crime was that it was a waste of the charisma and presence of Ben Murphy, who incidentally almost got the role of Riker.

Do you mean Billy Campbell?

DS9 - episode "His way". The lowest moment was that Passionate Kiss on Promenade. Rene Auberjonois somewhat overacted his part. This kiss was too theatrical.
On the whole, entire episode was doubtful if not the worst for Odo&Kira love story.

Aw, man, I loved that. It was like something from a 40's movie.

Agreed. TFF had the best interaction of 'the big three' and the song was just an addition to that. Insurrection's song was...lame.

Although--all of NuTrek is close up for a tie. Just two hideous, predictable, clunky, unthinking non-Trek-spirit actioners from start to finish. Blech. For the worst moments, either the stupid, absolutely NOT exciting, boringly overlong, Matrix-like space dive to the Vengeance, or Carol Marcus stripping for blatant fanservice.

I'd like to thank you for beating me to this, I was preparing my flame suit.

JJ-Trek is the low note. When Trek nosedived into being a brainless action franchise.

"Plato's Stepchildren." Endless scenes of Kirk and Spock forced to perform a humiliating dog-and-pony show. Literally.

. . . I'd say any episode that was kid-centric, going all the way back to Miri & And the Children Shall Lead.
Mentioning those two episodes together is like comparing apples and an artificially flavored apple Pop-Tart.

See, I don't see that as a low point. Data's character still acts, even with emotions. It's within his character and actually moves Data's character along. The last time we saw him acting was in the series, and if you remember Devil's Due, he explains why he acts, as a part of his quest to understand humanity. Picard was often his audience, as he probably was for this play. Picard's dialogue before they start singing shows the mind at work in Picard:

"He can fly a ship. He can anticipate tactical strategies. Clearly, his brain is functioning. We've seen how he responds to threats, I wonder how he would respond to...Mr. Worf, do you know Gilbert and Sullivan?"

And this is where I get on my high horse about "having them act as scientists, explorers, rather than just holding a phaser and shooting at someone." (Deducing, having an hypothesis from known data. Testing said hypothesis. Scientific method...yum.)

If you consider the song they are singing, Data is acting with duty and honor, as a British Tar should do. It fits the scene. It is no more out-of-place than Chang quoting Shakespeare, Khan doing Melville, or Kirk doing Dickens.

ENTERPRISE making Jolene Blalock take her top off to get ratings. I do not recall any other STAR TREK series desperate enough to go to those lengths, just to get someone to tune in and watch. The worst about the topless scenes is that they weren't done in any way that was sexy, or even artistic, in any way. She's just there, arms crossed, with a hand over each boob, whilst holding a conversation. It was just lame. I am all for having STAR TREK women flaunt it, if they got it, but ...

I think you mean Hoshi.

The only time we see T'Pol naked, she's facing away from the camera.

Doesn't TNG: A Matter of Perspective open with Picard working on a painting with a nude model?

TNG showed that Ferengi transporters remove the clothes from women.

Betazoid weddings are performed naked, as Lwaxana frequently was fond of reminding everyone.

VOY had Q Jr. ogling a nude Seven. Janeway stripped as well, I think it's in "Sacred Ground".

Nah. The worst about the T'Pol topless scenes is she was usually facing away from us. :shifty: Hoshi had her top torn off too.
