Trekkin' Deckin

What was your three favorite episodes of any TREK that used the Holodeck-Holosuite concept...here are three of mine

Hollow Pursuits (the first one with Barkley)
Ship In A Bottle (in fact, both Moriarty episodes are quite good)
Badda Bing Badda Booom

okay, go ahead and list five

Not sure of the title, but the one where the Aliens spy on the Voyager and believe that the Doctor is some kind of super captain.

And another Voyager one, because it was so sad. The one where the Doctor creates a holo-family, but Paris injects a more realistic storyline. The scene where the daughter dies is just as sad as Lal's death in TNG.

SCORPIO!

Hollow Pursuits - I Love Barclay in everything, and the swordsman versions of the crew are classic.

The Big Goodbye- Love the scene where the guy pulls the gun, and picard and co. just think "cool!".....then he blows away the wise talking historian :rommie:

the Moriarty ones - I'm a big Holmes fan, so I like these

I think the one with Brocoli is so good because, to me, it was the first use of the holodeck that was 'fanboyish." You have to know we had all wondered..."hmmmm, what I wouldn't love to try with a holo-versoin of Queen-milf her self, Deanna Troi!!"...and, whammo!!! Brocoli was us!!!

Great episode with a great message aimed at a certain crowd of people who can't put down their X360 control pads and leave their 'hollow' Halo-3/call of duty worlds

Well any Barclay episode. I thought he was a fantastic actor.

Insurrection Alpha - I wanted that to go on for ever (a good "MU" episode as well)

Agreed on Holo-Pursuits. It really created a sympathy for Broccoli that made him one of my favorite characters--the guy who didn't fit in, the everyman, the kludge.

So The Nth Degree is another fave of mine. When he just thinks his thoughts and the computer's got his voice? Very cool.

Dwight Schultz is a great actor. I liked him also playing a hologram of himself in the VOY episode, the arrogance and likability of the character was a great contrast to the insecure guy.

I believe it was B'Elanna who reprogrammed the Doctor's family with a little Klingon mischief.

The baseball game on DS9 was great. And anything, anything with Vic Fontaine.

But seriously, don't they do equipment safety-checks in the future? I mean, how many times can you lose control of a holodeck reality before you just say, let's put a manual kill switch in there??

I found this episode offensive. Its messsage was that anyone guilty of "wrongthink," (e.g., thinking sexually about a girl who wears a catsuit and bears her cleavage to work) should be ostracized and is in need of correction.
Oh, and their fantasies should be made public and ridiculed.

The episode was a little more than that. He was addicted to the holodeck and it was effecting his work. He was coming to work late, and he was not doing a good job. In fact, he was 'let go' by his former command because he was seen as a slacker..which, he was.

And, if you actually saw the episode, the ONLY reason they found him out was because he didn't report to work as directed. He brought it all upon him self due to his actions, not theirs.

On DS9:
His Way (Odo fakes it on the piano and woos Kira.)
It's Only a Paper Moon (Nog gets his life together after losing a leg.)
Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang (the DS9 crew robs a casino.)
Our Man Bashir (The DS9 crew as holocharacters.)

Elementary, Dear Data
Projections

Worst Case Scenario
Bride of Chaotica!
Real Life

loved all the captain proton ones. They were just pure escapism and it was good to see the crew in their off duty hours.

Thinking of it, there are a lot of good holodeck-episodes.
My three most favorite right now (it might change a little from time to time):

Hollow Pursuits
Projections
Our Man Bashir
