TrekFM interviews Larry Nemecek

Listened to this the other day, a nice follow-up to their conversation when the new series was announced. Like Larry, I was pleasantly surprised that CBS opted to go with someone with a history and respect for the series.

Nemecek is a regular contributor to the network. Loved his enthusiasm and it was a good show. I hope Fuller does a great job.

You mean like Kurtzman? lol

The only reason people should be "relieved" is because we all pretty much knew Kurtzmen is busy and would be an executive "creator" rather than producer.

Good listen. Does anyone know what the joint Singer/Fuller pitch was that was referenced in this interview? I read a found a few articles that referenced it but I couldn't find if it was Fullers JJverse Reliant pitch, Singers Federation pitch, or something completely different.

I'm a bit over Nemecek as one of the usual Trek pundits. And also the insistency on TrekFM that the new series should or "must" be set in the Prime universe, so as to appeal to the fan base in order to make CBS All Access and the new Trek successful.

Ha! Alright, should have probably said I didn't think a member of the "old guard" would get a shot. I'm relieved primarily because the show's got a quality showrunner behind it. My fear was that Kurtzman would farm the project off and it would become just another show, like Hawaii 5-0, Sleepy Hollow, Scorpion and Limitless. Fuller has shown an ability to create intriguing, visually distinctive shows with a degree of thematic depth that don't opt for style over substance.
