Requiem for Methuselah is so over-the-top and outlandish, that it makes the whole of Season 3 worthwhile. Who knew that Leonardo da Vinci was as immortal as his works? And that he gets to duke it out with Captain Kirk over the love of a 'woman,' that's just Liquid Gold, right there! AND ... he does so wearing tights. I mean ... I always knew the Master Leonardo was 1-of-a-kind, but this show really brings the point home. da Vinci stands alone ...

When you substitute JOHANNES BRAHMS for ol' Leonardo in the above paragraph, it becomes even more amazing.

Day of The Dove, The Tholian Web were two episodes I was desperate to see again during the BBCs haphazard screening of Trek during 1981 I recall!

There are several good episodes from this season ("The Enterprise Incident, "The Paradise Syndrome", "That Which Survives", etc.), but my favorite is still "The Lights of Zetar". Scotty and Mira make such a beautiful couple, and it's gratifying to see him find a woman of beauty and substance at last! They exemplify a May-December romance in its most beautiful form IMO. :adore:
