After purchasing the Blu-ray I was unable to view it for months and finally this week saw it on a 52" Sony Bravia screen via HDMI. I started with the special features Blu-ray disc 2.
I was disappointed with "Gene Roddenberry’s Vision" and now must agree with this short review of that particular feature. There were no interview clips with Gene Roddenberry at all. It would have been nice to hear Roddenberry himself discuss his vision for Star Trek and have the new filmmakers in 2009 talk about how they felt they stayed true or strayed from him vision...
So much for my wishlist from May 2009 of that very thing.
While I haven't seen all the features yet or the deleted scenes I really love all the HD footage from behind-the-scenes on the set, even from the 2007 screen test with Leonard Nimoy.
I wasn't wild about the black and white faux-grainy effects on some of the underexposed behind-the-scenes footage.
I'm looking forward to the other special features on there.
Anyone else have any disappointments or really favorite things about the special features (minus the deleted scenes).
