Trek turns 100yr old!!

I'd be 104 in September of 2066. I seriously doubt that I'll be around for that celebration. Hell, I half expect I'll have a stroke partway through the sequel to The Abomination--way things are going.
So, have a happy day in Eden, you youngsters! Just remember, no bare feet in the grass--and don't eat the fruit!

Hopefully medical science will have improved to mean that living 90-100 years will be standard by then. I will be 84, so I hope to be there.

Hmmm... In 2066 I'll be 94; and with my family history it's quite possible I'll be there too...

Considering I'll have just celebrated my 74th Birthday on April 5th 2063, 77 shouldn't be that far a stretch hopefully...

Since you will still be, compared to most of us, a young whipper snapper; I designate you as the celebration's organizer!!! You'll just have to scour a bunch of old folks homes!!

I will be 103 years old by Sept. 08, 2066, so it is possible. I do diet and exercise regularly so I hope to still be alive and active at that age.

Keep it up and yes, it's VERY do-able!

I do physiotherapy with older people and one of my oldest patients is a 101(and a half)year old woman who is still sharp as a tac and whose favourite exercise is boxing with weights against me.

She goes like a thirty year old sparrer. Her other hobby is gambling and she gets really pissed off when the boxers she bets on lose matches.

She is an ABSOLUTE inspiration.

So, I'd say if you keep up the healthy regime and barring accidents or unforeseen illness, factoring in medical advances, you could easily live to 110 and be active and happy for a lot of that time!

I'd be 83 by then.
But I plan to live well past 150 or 200 anyway ... and still look ripping hot and young then (27 right now, and people still tell me I look like a 19 year old ... at least as physical looks go - mentally, I'm twice my age ... but like it).

Though to be honest, I don't think I'll notice Trek celebrating it's 100th b-day.
If it remains to be a part of my life, then celebrating it's 100th b-day wouldn't really change anything.
Depending on what happens by then, but I was serious about living very long (surpassing most if not all of the current generation ).

I wonder ... if we can push up to 100 or past that with exercise/meditation combo and whatnot (barring any genetic problems), I wonder if the biomedical research will by then reach a stage where it will provide much longer life-spans.
I think it will be possible very soon one way or the other, .... but whether or not it will be toxic or prohibitively expensive remains to be seen.

Tulin,

Thanks for the good news. It is inspirational.

A few times second-hand, at certain parties, but that's it. Can't be avoided unless I just don't go.
