Trek on the Radio!

Hey Chicago fans,

As of this writing, WFMT-FM 98.7, a classical/fine arts station, is playing Trek music by the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. They started out with TOS and are now on Voyager's theme. And of course, currently, I have tingles TNG's theme is up next. I can't wait to hear what's next!

I would guess that tonight is a space theme programming. Earlier they were playing Holst's "The Planets" narrated by Nimoy and the soundtrack to 2001: A Space Odyssey. It's been a very very good night for Chicago radio!

I love WFMT, one of the truly "great" radio stations. Thank goodness Chi-town still has excellent classical/arts music programming via FMT.

Wish I still lived in Chicago so I could groove on the "space" night ...but we do get a lot of programs distributed nationally (mostly on our NPR stations) that originate from WFMT. I'm listening to the Midnight Special right now.
