Trek Nation - For Real ? - A New Paradise Social Platform

Back in the 80s a group of friends and I would often speculate about a Trek Nation, or Trek Town (we didn't have such big ideas back then). We'd spend forever thinking up street names, for example. My favourite was: FortheworldishollowandIhavetouchedthesky Avenue. Doesn't sound very amusing, but back then most of our Trek conversations were (at the very least) alcohol-fuelled. :rommie:

In front of the Town Hall, we would have to have the Square of Gothos.

The central roundabout would be called Roundabout Intruder.

The local sports oval would be Spock's Plain.

SOme of the streets would just have to be named after Klingon episodes: Way of the Warrior, Way of the Dove.

Jeez, can you imagine if Trek BBS were an island with us all living on it? At least on the internet we're limited to just arguing with each other. On an island we could get into actual fights, and the moderators would have to get into riot gear and end it with tear gas or something.
I wasn't convinced before, but now...
It's a good idea? Hey, I want to be a doctor! C'mon! Let's do it with a "Trek Island Fund." I'll find someone, possibly the guys who organized the lobby, and did fund raising to keep Enterprise on the air. Who's afraid of a few bloody noses? :D

What's the most convient island available for purchase?

I think it would be too much of an undertaking to actually create a society like that. But, it does remind me of an idea I had for a theme park (or maybe a "theme camp"). What if you could spend a whole week on a mockup of a starship, as a member of its crew?

 Where were you back then? We could have really used you.

Re: Trek Nation - For Real ?

We have to watch out for the 'Threshold' street though if we want to avoid accelerated evolution into salamanders. :D

Correction: Accelerated evolution into salamanders which engage in office romance.

An island could be bought by a rich Trekkie and then allowed only to be populated by trekkers.

Ever read Lord Of The Flies?

Sounds more like Walden II to me...

This would be a really great idea and I would so live there. It'd be great if all home and building interirors were like the interiors of Trek interiors.

All people on tis Trek Nation island would have to be valid trekkers and be interviewed and swear allegiance to uphold federation principles and values.

They would also be required to behave in a Trek verse manner. They would wear Trek clothes as shown in the various series. They would go to work and try to promote trek ideals and create a mini trek cosm on this island dedicated to trekism and it's various offshoots.

I don't really like this idea, it doesn't sound very Trek like, or even American like. I mean you're asking that all people who want to live in this Nation be required to wear the clothing that was seen in Trek and are required to be a valid Trekker.

How would you actually check this and make sure that people are what they are. I think we should all be able to wear what we like as we have seen ordinary clothes on Trek and even the lowliest Trekker who only watches an episode a year should have the chance to be accpeted into this nation.

Altogether a great idea and one I'd like to see happen, and there was that one guy from England who got himself his own nation, (not sure if it still exists or not).

Clothes as worn by various people in Trek Verse, not just crew members...

loose rules.

What is between the ears and what's in their heart would be more important.

Scene.........."Dr McCoy's puts his hand on his heart".
