Trek Movie Moments that...

I too missed that ship, even though I got used to the E and liked it. I think everyone remembers their first Enterprise and even though I was born in the 80s Im pretty sure my first was the TOS ship (which is why I said my most emotional moment was that scene from TMP)

I actually TAILGATED for TMP and every other TOS movie through TUC. Actually saw The Voyage Home at the drive-in with a 1/4 keg and a grill. Yeah, try that nowadays, if you can even find a drive-in. (we have one left in my state!)
However, some great scenes on the big screen were:
STTMP- scene the op mentioned.
STTWOK- Spocks death, funeral and ejection. Actually made me tear up.
STTSFS- Spock looking into the eyes of the bridge crew and Saavik, and his conversation with Kirk after the Fal Tor Pan! Just unbelievable. Also, in this one, the Genesis flyover scene at the very beginning of the movie. Set the stage. Oh, also, the decloaking Bird of Prey before blowing up Valkris.
In my opinion, this is a great movie to watch with some Chinese take out!It just takes you away.
STTVH- Man, what a great movie. The very best of this was the trial at the end, Spock & Sarek afterward, and of course, the unveiling of the 1701-A and the "let's see what she's got!" Great on the big screen.
STTFF- I love the beginning of this movie with Sybok on the horse.
STTUC- Three scenes- Klingon Warship scenes, Klingon court scene & rura penthe (sp) scene where they overlook the ice cliff. Good, good stuff.

"It's all I have." - J'onn asked by Sybok why he's protecting a desert field of holes with a gun (ST V).
The moment that should have been highly emotional for me, but wasn't: death of Data (NEM). He was my favourite character; I shoulda been in tears.

There are only two movie moments of any kind that I have gotten choked up:
Spocks death in TWOK,
and Ray Kinsella asking his dad, "Do you want to play catch?" in Field of Dreams. Both get me everytime, though admittedly, moreso with the latter.

^That was a very cool line. And a deep one. It was both McCoy and Spock saying it.
