Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Airing the same week as that episode of H5O was The Six Million Dollar Man, "The Bionic Woman: Part II". Malachi Throne and Paul Carr guested in both parts as a mustache-twirling villain and his main henchman. In a twist on the old "Paul Carr usually gets shot in the end" trope that I recall having been discussed somewhere upthread, their role in the story climaxed with an oddly cartoonish bit of business. Their characters had split up in the woods with rifles to try to find spots from which to aim their rifles at the Bionic Duo while they were getting away. Throne's character stands up in Carr's line of fire just as Carr takes his shot, which goes into Throne's back!

I remember that, but as I recall, the friendly fire accident was extremely realistic. It happens on hunting trips: the guy out in front pops up to take a shot just as the guy behind him is shooting at the same deer.

In fact, I think that's exactly what happened when Dick Cheney accidentally shot a hunting companion. Note to self: don't get out in front of your buddies on a hunting trip. Also, don't go hunting.

Here's a grab from the scene:

Stephen Liska, who played the Klingon, Torg, in 'The Search For Spock', has an uncredited role as a soldier in George A. Romero's 'The Crazies.'

This morning's Hardcastle and McCormick had Michael Ansara without his toupee. For a brief minute I confused him with Hector Elizondo.

In an episode of the Kevin Pollak show (who does great impressions of William Shatners Kirk), he interveiws Jason Alexander (who is a Star Trek fan, and guested on VOY), who mentions Paul Giamatti and Holly Hunter ( who will both star in the up-coming Star Trek Academy series), within minutes of each other. This was from 10 years ago btw.

Popped on the TV this morning and selected Batman on H&I, and there was Stanley Adams! He played a cop visiting from L.A. who didn't know about Batman, and thus had no compunctions about arresting him when Catwoman (Julie Newmar!) frames him in "Batman Displays his Knowledge."

Caught a silly/serious 1958 sci fi flick called "The Lost Missile" this weekend. It concerned an wayward alien missile stuck in Earth's atmosphere screaming along at 4,000 MPH wreaking havoc and death with its shock wave and million-degree nuclear engine. And there was Phillip Pine as a panicky scientist running about like a headless chicken.
