Ya know, every time I see Cyril Delevanti in something, I swear he was an Organian, and I look it up and no, he was never in a TOS episode. But he SHOULD have been ! So I hereby make pointless note that I just saw him in a 1945 serial called "Jungle Queen", available on Prime. And in 1945 he looks almost as old and wrinkly as he did in the mid 1960s (he was 56 in 45!)!

Finally saw The Monolith Monsters, continuing my education in 50s sci fi & horror movies. This concerns a meteor that grows uncontrollably when wet and threatens tp destroy a small desert town when a rain storm crops up. The local geologist calls the weather bureau to find out when the rain will stops. William Schallert is the nerdish and babbling weather expert. He has about a two minutes scene and he steals the movie.

That's awesome and a great catch. It's also the most San Fernando Valley-looking (and non-Hawaii-looking) 70s shot ever.

Must be a TV station promoting its ST reruns. I think it says "9 & 3 tv" at the end, which makes no sense, except that Hawaii does have a channel 9.

That's awesome and a great catch. It's also the most San Fernando Valley-looking (and non-Hawaii-looking) 70s shot ever.

Several locations given for this ep are located in a part of Honolulu where a lot of buildings look like they belong on Ventura Blvd. The sky behind the building isn't typical of SFV weather, though.

Also looks like one of those locations (1580 Kapiolani) would have been right next door to the studios for KGMB -- the TV station which carried Hawaii 5-0 during its original run, and which also used the "9&3 TV" identifier visible on the banner.

That TV station is now gone and the street is now completely unrecognizable.
