Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Here's an obscure one.

George Schlatter, the creator of 'Laugh In' tried to recreate his success with another show called 'Turn On', which was famously canceled by the network 15 minutes into its premiere episode, which had Tim Conway as its host.

What's less known is that two episodes were filmed, the second staring Robert Culp and his wife France Neyun, that never aired.

Both episodes have been uploaded to YouTube for your viewing torture.

Vic Perrin just sort of filling out the passenger list on a stagecoach in the Rawhide episode "The Captive." Had a couple of lines, but he was just an extra.

That costume would be a perfect fit for his role as Sgt. Gorse on the radio series Fort Laramie.

Paul Carr doesn't make it through the Rawhide episode "Incident at the Top of the World."

The guest star was Robert Culp, in a story about a Civil War veteran addicted to pain killers.

Sonny & Cher ep 0218, Feb 1, 1973. Teri plays Cher, while Cher plays Mary Poppins. Jim Nabors is the guest disgruntled father of the two problem children.

Flipping through the channels and I landed on 'Patton' starring George C. Scott, and there's Michael Strong (Roger Korby) as one of the general's subordinates.

George Takei and Neville Brand in a stunning 2-person Twilight Zone ep, "The Encounter." George is a young Nisei looking for handyman work, and Brand is a WWII vet trying to put the past behind him - but the Katana he took from an officer he killed on Okinawa has a curse engraved on the blade that may have other ideas...

All through watching "Master of the World," I thought that guy looked familiar, but he wasn't ranting and raving. He did, however, have a fit of jealousy over the pretty girl and try to kill Charles Bronson, so that should have clued me in. David Frankham (Larry Marvick) in the 1961 Jules Verne film, starring Vincent Price.

BTW, this moment was one of those perfect moments of film that happens so rarely. The direction, the photography, the blocking of the shot, and George's acting - not just that amazing expression, but he moved into shot, hit his mark, and struck the perfect stance, all for one little instant of perfection.
