See the next two posts above Forbin's.Sorry, I’m not familiar with this Twinkie reference (beyond the snack).
I googled and tried urban dictionary but couldn’t find a reference. What is it?
They rebranded in the 70s. Sonny was a clever businessman.Ya know, my old brain remembers S&C as hippies, but their show was more like Vegas and nightclub acts.
He was indeed! There's an interview on the disks where he says the only reason he's actually part of the act is that Cher was painfully shy about being up there alone (at first), and he always made sure his part was minimal and she was spotlighted. They rebranded in the 70s. Sonny had been a successful songwriter and producer in the 1950s / early 1960s. I think he'd done some minor session work as a musician (with what would become known as "The Wrecking Crew") on recordings by some of the acts he produced, but his transition to stage performer was indeed in support of Cher. The hippie costumes were part of the look adopted for the TV show, because that was deemed to be what would sell at the time.He was indeed! If only he could have found a way to be up there and NOT singOMG he was awful!
