Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Paladin helps Phillip Pine and his crazy old coot father, who thinks Paladin is the Devil, defend their gold mine, in the Have Gun - Will Travel episode "Gold and Brimstone."

Jay Robinson is murdered in the teaser of Hawaii Five-O, "Cloth of Gold" (Feb. 8, 1972)--such a waste. Jason Evers gets more screen time.

Robinson may not have been on screen for long, but I haven't seen that episode in decades and still remember what I think may have been his character's last line:
"That's more better, as my native friends say."

By coincidence, the last two episodes of ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS I've watched have featured Trek alumni: Arnold Moss as a book publisher in "Captive Audience" and Madlyn Rhue as a scheming blackmailer in "The Dark Pool."

That is a great coincidence!!! But if it's not the exact same episode then it's just the jobbing actor scenario again I suppose! And more Shanna is always good for us to see!!!

Not a guest, but a surprise Trek reference: I just watched the episode of The Muppet Show featuring folk singer/activist Joan Baez, and in her 1979 song "Honest Lullaby," written for her son, there's a line where she mentions his toys, and she rhymes "teddy bears and alligators" with "Enterprise communicators."

Joan Baez's other big space thing was that she sang the two original songs in Silent Running, directed by ST:TMP's Douglas Trumbull.
