Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Morgan Woodward was a series regular on "Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp" as Deputy Shotgun Gibbs. It's playing on Encore's Western Channel on Weekdays at 2 PM EST...

The episode of Get Smart that aired on Christmas 1965, "Survival of the Fattest," guested Karen Steele as a supernaturally strong enemy agent and Tania Lemoni as her belly-dancing accomplice. Apparently Lemoni was the go-to belly dancer on TV of the era; I'd previously caught her on an episode of The Rat Patrol.

Brian Tochi in Night Terrors, an episode of Star Trek:The Next Generation!
JB
Tochi played the Japanese exchange student in Revenge of the Nerds. That was hilarious.

Probably old news to everyone else, but since I'm watching this movie for the very first time... Clint Howard as an army radar operator in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. I understand he was also in the sequels.

Kor
Clint Howard also guest starred in an episode of The Streets of San Francisco, a Quinn Martin Production btw :sigh::). There was a Streets of SF marathon on the Decades channel.

The episode, "Cry Help!", was actually a twofer. It not only had Howard as a guest star but Mariette Hartley as well.

Clint Howard has guest starred in an episode of TOS, DS9, ENT and DSC. So, he has made an appearance, as a different character, in each Trek era -- the TOS era, the Berman era, and the Kurtzman era. I wonder if there are any other actors with that distinction.

Michael Strong is a hospital official who thinks Kolchak is crazy in the Night Stalker episode "The Energy Eater."

Widening our net to "anyone who worked on Trek in maybe surprising other jobs"...John D. F. Black's name recently came up as one of the screenwriters of Shaft. (Ya damn right!)

I'll wait until you get to your review of 'Who's Next' in the Classic/Retro Pop Culture thread to point out a surprising connection between Herbert F. Solow and Pete Townshend and the making of 'Who's Next'.

The Name of the Game episode "Inquiry" features Jack Donner as Glenn Howard's lawyer, and Richard Webb in a WWII flashback as Howard's grumpy old CO.

Non-Trek luminaries included Ed Asner as a Greek underground leader, Fritz Weaver as a Nazi, young Mike Farrel as a reporter, and the stunning miss Gia Scala.

And in the Name of the Game episode "Ordeal," David Opatoshu (gesundheit) as a lawyer defending Jessica Walter for murder.

Was channel surfing this morning and I saw this. Season 9 episode of The Virginian, Last of the Comancheros.

Anthony Caruso (Bela Okmyx)

Also James Gregory (Dr Tristan Adams)

Sorry, this joke requires a bit of setup:
My wife and I have been watching The Addams Family, and in an interview, John Astin (Gomez) made the comment that the setup was in the format of "Father Knows Best."
So, now, I'm imagining Jane Wyatt, the Mother from "Father Knows Best" being kissed up the arm by Sarek:
"Amanda! That's Human!"

Over the weekend, "Svengoolie" ran "House on Haunted Hill" with Elisha Cook (Mr. Cogley from "Court Martial") in there.

You know, just thinking off the top of my head, of all the guest actors on TOS.
I think he gave one of the most believable performances. He didn't play a starship captain gone mad, or a scientist going off the deep end, or a planetary dictator out to kill them. Just a low keyed, someone eccentric attourney. But, when he got passionate in the courtroom in his speech about human rights, you felt it.

Just caught Jay Robinson in what turns out to be his last live-action role listed on IMDb, a 1994 episode of The Nanny. (Somebody else is watching it. :p ) He was sporting a tail.
