Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

I loved all those quicksand deaths on TV as a kid and also thought that it was everywhere in the woods! Surprisingly it wasn't and I've only found one such quagmire and it wasn't even that deep!!!

Vasquez rocks and one of the Klingons, but not the one from "Friday's Child." Ned Romero in The Virginian, "The Heritage," 1968.

Kor, Koloth, Kang, Krel, Kras.
Spock, Sarek, Surak, Sonak, Sybok.
T'Pring, T'Pau, T'Pol, T'Planet Hoth.

Imagine if we had to have names that all start with the same prescribed letter. Because, you know, we're Earth people and that's our thing. :)

Or if we were Earths, from the planet Earth, who spoke Earth as our first language, and we all ate a single cuisine, a shining cuisine known... as Earth.

Hawaii Five-O, "Not That Much Different" (Mar. 5, 1969), has Stewart Moss as a hippie who's suspected of and framed for the murder of a rival at the paper they both run. Trek fans knew it wasn't him, because the weapon used was a .38, not a butter knife.

I still can't get over how long it took me to realize he was both Tormolen AND Hanar. I can be so dumb sometimes.

James Gregory is in an episode of Emergency! this evening as a patient a Rampart General who is also the father of Dr. Brackett.

THEM!! (1954)
Maybe two minutes of screen time for this ambulance medic:

And less than a minute for young Sgt. Nimoy to drop off a telegram.

Branded! "Cowards Step aside" featured an evil bank-robbing pyromaniac billed as "G. V. Homeier." Maybe he was trying to come up with something more dignified than Skippy at the time.

The episode also featured Johnny Crawford, in a little Rifleman reunion.

Okay, the universe works in mysterious ways - three hours after catching Skip Homeier in a random Branded episode, I watch a random Rawhide episode, and there he is again. "Incident of the Blue Fire" was filmed 6 years before the Branded ep, and he was credited as "Skip Homeier" in the titles.

And here we learn why waving at cows in a lightning storm on the prairie can be dangerous:

The first color episode of Branded! features Colonel Jon Lormer (with Carradine lurking behind).

Just watched the movie Captain Newman, MD. Paul Carr played a crazy sailor named Arthur who was upset that that his brother Frank was killed or something. Problem was he had no brother. Sounds like they could have rehired him for The Day of the Dove episode...
