Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Also a.k.a. General Savage. I've been watching Season 1 of 12 O'Clock High again, so given all the better-known actors whom Stan might have used as an example, I got a kick out of Lansing being the one that rolled off his typewriter.

Cloud William and Dr. Boyce are being grilled by Hamilton Burger and cross-examined by Michael Rennie on this morning's episode of 'Perry Mason'. (Raymond Burr must have had the week off.)

I wonder if Capella IV or that alien asteroid where Kirk fought the Gorn were mapped by the Preservers?

James Blish (or the earlier revision script he used as reference) called Capella Ceres, and said it was a long lost Earth colony. I suppose the argument could be made that the Preservers could have placed the Capellans there, but which Earth culture would they have come from?

Yes I remember reading Star Trek IV by James Blish and his calling said planet Ceres instead of Capella IV! Plus also he left out Kras the cowardly Klingon! So was Kras a last minute addition to the episode and I doubt that James Blish had ever watched an episode of the series, ever! :ack:

Many of Blish's Trek stories were drawn from earlier drafts of the scripts than the ones used to film the finished episodes, so characters and story elements did sometimes differ, often substantially. In this case, though the Klingons were a factor in the first draft, they were never seen. The character Kras was only introduced in a later version, and the name of the planet was indeed changed.
