Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Billed as such because by that point she had married conductor Zubin Mehta, and had changed her name. And apparently her professional name as well.

Anyhoo, and speaking of Barry Russo - an accidental discovery while watching 20 Million Miles to Earth last night:

According to IMDB this is Russo's first-ever screen appearance, calling some reporters into a meeting, then standing in the background for a few minutes.

Another Brady Bunch connection: "Where There's Smoke..." episode where Greg gets caught with a pack of smokes in his school jacket - only its the jacket of his friend Tommy - played by our friend Tommy Starnes/Peter Kirk, Craig Hundley, who later quit actng, and changed his professional name to Craig Huxley so he could be a musician.

As a musician, Hundley/Huxley had quite the career with the Trek movies, including inventing the Blaster Beam used in ST:TMP, and doing much synthesizer work on the sequels. Not to mention working with Shatner's spacier projects as well.

Has this been mentioned before? This thread is so long....

^Well, John Lazelle invented the Blaster Beam, but Huxley created a refined version of his own. In addition to TMP, it was used in other scores including TWOK and Battle Beyond the Stars by James Horner and 2010 by David Shire and Huxley. It's also been used to create sound effects in films like The Black Hole and Meteor, and Jango Fett's "seismic charge" weapon in Attack of the Clones.

When I last watched this movie, I thought he looked familiar, but I didn't make the connection. Thanks.

Captain Dunsel said to wait here, and here is where you are going to wait.

In "The Bionic Woman," the 2-parter on The Six Million Dollar Man that introduced Jaime Sommers, Steve and Jaime are menaced by Malachi Throne (Commodore Mendez) and Paul Carr (Lee Kelso). And of course Rudy Wells was played at the time (and for the last time) by Alan Oppenheimer, who'd show up several times on TNG, DS9, and VGR.

Strangely enough it wasn't the last time that Oppenheimer played Rudy Wells, even after Martin Brooks took over the role in Return of The Bionic Woman he turned up as Rudy in The Bionic Criminal (Season 3, episode 9) featuring the return of Monte Markham as Barney H(Miller)

Well imagine my surprise when I visited Mayberry and discovered that Nancy Hedford used to be Sheriff Taylor's regular squeeze....

A really terrible screen grab from the 1960 series "Men Into Space". Episode 18 features Paul Comi (Stiles in Balance of Terror) in a "space igloo" on the moon. That's him on the left.

I just saw Phillip Pine in two consecutive episodes of Adventures of Superman -- as Phil Pine in "The Case of the Talkative Dummy" and as Phillip Pine in "Mystery of the Broken Statues." He was a bad guy in both cases, and had a mustache in the second episode.

Heh...I had it on in the background while doing other stuff, and noticed him in the first episode, but didn't catch him in the second!
