Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

I've started Brainstorm (1965) starring Jeffrey Hunter and Anne Francis ("Forbidden Cage"!), which I recorded from TCM. It has mixed reviews, and its beginning is both enticing and corny. It's directed by William "Cannon" Conrad. I'll probably finish it, unless it gets too awful.

More evidence that William Schallert was in pretty much everything...here he is as the mayor of Sparta, Mississippi, in 1967's Academy Award-winning In the Heat of the Night, with Rod Steiger and a vintage Coke machine:

An episode of Columbo running right now on Cozi features Robert "Lazarus" Brown.

Also appearing in this episode is Herbert Jefferson Jr. ("Boomer" in the original Battlestar Galactica).

My wife put on Murder She Wrote the other day and there he was, big as life, Admiral Haftel (Nicolas Coster)

As as aside, whenever we're watching a show and I see someone who had been on Star Trek or MASH, I say "hey, there's so and so" (using their character name from the episode) or simply saying, 'he/she was on "<insert TV show name>"
Much eye rolling ensues

Has Johnny Haymer ever evinced the shocked stare because Sergeant Zale on M*A*S*H was that red-suited foppish looking Constable (with the shoulder length hair!) in All Our Yesterdays ?

I was just reading someone's post about something about "The Return of the Archons" in another thread. It made me think about the actor Torin Thatcher.

Thatcher was the robe-wearing bald guy in "The Return of the Archons". I remember him from the movie The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. He played the sorcerer with the huge pet dragon in that movie. The movie came out many many years before I was born. Btw, I loved the stop-motion special effects in that movie.

I think Thatcher was the only actor that I recognized when I first watched TOS. Every other actor was probably the first time I had ever seen them.

He played a similar role in the similar 1962 movie Jack the Giant Slayer (also featuring star Kerwin Matthews and the same director and producer).

That's good that it's only TOS actors! I added a few myself from other Treks but I wasn't entirely sure, but now I am!

Bill Bixby's 1973 show The Magician hit DVD, and on disc 2, "Ovation for Murder" (which title seems to have nothing to do with the horse racing plot), we find Susan Oliver being beautiful, and Cloud William bring grumpy.

Cloud William also turns up in The Invaders episode The Mutation as an alien commander along with Max Kleven as a stunt alien who burns up in the sand!
