Trek fright night - Scariest StarTrek epsidoes

I was just think I might watch a few of the more 'horror' orientated episodes this week

What would you include ?

Scotty and Sulu transformed into mindless zombies ?

Riker in TNG trying to perform in a play detailing the recovery of a patient at an asylum

How about the Borg :borg: or the Vidiians (Gross Phage people) who go about stealing people's organs

:alienblush:

The Haunting of Deck Twelve was a good episode. So was The Thaw. Both would probably be more "creepy" than "scary", but I enjoyed both.

Some of the Expanse Arc episodes were pretty good too.

I don't know if I'd necessarily call it 'scary', but Deep Space Nine's Season 7 episode 'Field of Fire' certainly had an eerie/spookie feel to it.

TNG: "Frame of Mind", if psychological horror is more your bag.

Also give ENT: "Impulse" a shot if you're a Zombie-fiend!

The "I am for you" woman in "That Which Survives" always creeped me out. Especially the way she disappeared by flattening into a vertical line.

TNG: Schisms

The holodeck was used very effectively in this episode, I've not seen it for an age but I remember the recreation of the surgical scene very well.

Another creepy episode IMHO is TNG's "Identity Crisis", another great holodeck recreation and a convincingly eerie planet to boot. Seeing Geordi slowly recreating the invisible alien that was stalking the Victory crew and the building panic from the Enterprise away team made the episode.

I hated The Thaw! Scary!!!!!!!!!!! :scream: :scream:

Night terrors - beverly in the morgue.

The thought of the BoBW borg is pretty chilling too.

A lot of people did, I guess. I thought it was brilliant.

:: drumroll for the scariest of all my boyhood TOS's ::

Without question... Gamesters of Triskelion

Still creeps me out  :p

I'd also go with Genesis myself. I've always thought that was a fairly well done "horror" episode myself.

I'd agree with the posters who said Night Terrors and Identity Crisis. I wouldn't describe either as honestly 'scary', just 'unnerving'.

Frame of Mind - In my opinion, it's Star Trek's best and creepiest mind-fuck episode. Dark, claustrophobic, and utterly unnerving.
