Trek collaborative novels - who would YOU pick?

Recalling past "collaborative" Trek novels (Objective: Bajor and Doomsday World ), I was wondering which authors I'd pick for a new such novel if it were up to me...

Basically, trying to limit my "fantasy assignment" to 2-3 authors, I'll go with either a Mack\KRAD or a DRG3\CLB combo, based on what I perceive as complimentary writing styles.

The more I think about it, a Mack\Ward & Dilmore combo is also a great fit (based on how each Vanguard novel seamlessly flows into the next) ...
hmmm... How can I petition Pocket Books to get a collaborative Vanguard novel by those three??

Well, you could start three brand new threads about how much you want it, and get a half-dozen friends to sign up on the board here to agree with you. The editors will then read this, note it is "what the fans want," and then do it for fear of losing sales.

While I think it might be interesting to see what Dayton and I would come up with working as a team, there is one barrier to such an endeavor that I would find insurmountable: I am a terrible collaborator.

As anyone who knows me in person can attest, I am a control freak. When I am writing a book, I need to have version control. Nothing makes me more angry than having to negotiate for my choices of words or phrasing. I am also notoriously thin-skinned when first receiving critical feedback (even though I usually see the wisdom of the notes and implement the majority of them).

Still, an interesting thought experiment you've proposed here. And I am flattered by the literary company you would have me keep; thank you.

There are always ways to make it happen like writing alternating chapters, each writer writing specific characters\ situations, etc...

I wouldn't mind seeing CLB and KRAD work together. They do have different styles, but I think it would be really cool to see them combined together.

I believe you're thinking of Wrath of the Prophets, which was a collaboration among Peter David, Michael Jan Friedman, and Robert Greenberger, one of three they did along with not just Doomsday World (where they were joined by Carmen Carter) but also The Disinherited. Objective: Bajor was a John Peel novel.

That's right! I forgot about Invincible I was referring to the way your ATT novels worked in tandem, as well as Destiny / ASD... Besides, your writing styles are (IMO) similar (though obviously not the same) and compliment one another greatly
