Trek Cast's Favorite Episodes?

I read somewhere that James Doohan's favorite Trek episode is "The Doomsday Machine." Have any other Trek alumni ever mentioned what their favorite episodes? If so, what were they?

Star Trek.com had a thing on this recently, and Alison Pill said her favorite episode is Encounter at Farpoint.

I just cannot even. That episode sucks so bad, along with much of the first season. Even if it has some redeeming qualities, it doesn't measure up to the sheer number of truly stellar episodes in TNG and throughout the franchise. I'm guessing she tried watching TNG to prep for Picard, and didn't get very far. It's hard for a new fan to go back to those old shows when the first seasons largely suck.

Hollywood people always seem to feel compelled to say "Oh, I'm a huge fan of _____!" and it's usually pretty obvious that they're just being diplomatic.

Avery Brooks, Armin Shimmerman, and René Auberjonois have all said that "Far Beyond the Stars" is there favorite episode of DS9.

Patrick Stewart once said 11001001 was his favorite, but after season 3 he updated his favorite...

Most actors (and others involved in the production) probably would pick their favorites on the basis of their experiences working on the episode, whether they are fans of the franchise or not, rather than the finished product.

Shatner said he liked Devil in the Dark when he was asked about his favorite one.

That sounds like she simply wanted to name one of them, and only remembered the pilot XD

Yes, for a surprising reason: His father passed away during the shooting of that episode, and he remembered how supportive Leonard Nimoy and the crew were to him while he was waiting to get a flight back to Canada and after he returned to work.

Shatner is also pretty fond of "The City on the Edge of Forever."

Ah right, I remember the story where he asked Nimoy to repeat what he had done in the previous scene, which was Spock screaming PAAAIIINNN!!!, and Shatner replied: ...take an aspirin. XD

I love Encounter at Farpoint, and I find TNG season 1 to be far more compelling than the watered down melodrama-in-sci-fi-clothing TNG became in the later seasons

Don't assume everyone has the same tastes as you. We all view the world through different lenses. Just because you personally didn't like it doesn't mean you have to invent some rationale as to why Alison Pill's preference must be something she just pulled out of her ass.
