Trek Books for 1 Cent Each--What is your reaction?

A while back, I sent KRAD a list. Some guy was selling all the SCE books on a CD for like 15 bucks.

I just bought The Pandora Principle and the TUC novelization for 1 cent each via Amazon. Both arrived fast, in a good condition.

It's nice that actual Trek books are on eBay as opposed to the dodgy eBook listings.

What ebook listings?

Every book in a series in PDF format, usually for $5.

They keep every p. The publisher and the author get absolutely nothing on the sale of used books.

Do you think this is why they are pushing e-books and the Kindle? I don't know of a way to buy or sell e-books used and they are not much cheaper than a hard copy from what I have seen. They must save a lot of money (and trees) not producing and shipping hard copies.

I for one always enjoy going to the goodwill and buying books cheap. I think it's good for the planet as well as the wallet. The money usually goes to charity too. It is very hard to find the latest Star Trek books used at much of a discount over buying it new with a coupon, or at Super-Wal-Mart when I can get out to one.

As for fan-fiction I think part of the reason CBS looks the other way is because it wouldn't pay to harass you most loyal fans for loving your show so much. As long as they are not profiting.

The Star Trek Of Gods and Men people are getting around this buy giving away a free DVD of the fan-film with any purchase from their online store.
It seems sneaky to me and I hope they don't ruin things for other fan-film/fan-fictions creators.

eBay makes it hard to get listings like these eBooks removed.

Really? I would think they would want to pull something like this off the site the moment it was mentioned to them.

They tend to do nothing unless directly contacted by the rights-holder. With seven-day listings, there often isn't enough time for them to be notified and then take action.
