Trek 2017 TV Show Teaser

Love the trailer! The effects are kinda wonkey and the font is weird (I'd guess it's temporary anyway), but it's the trailer for the new Star Trek series, damnit! How cool is that!?

I love love love the tagline of “New Crews. New Villains. New Heroes. New Worlds.”

Maybe the title really is “Star/Trek” or “Star | Trek”! I don't know what that would mean (probably nothing), but it wouls be a new title. Kinda.

it will have a real title
Though the logo simply says “Star Trek,” Variety has learned that the series will have a more specific title to be unveiled at a later date. Later installments in the “Star Trek” television franchise had titles that differentiated them from the original series — “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Star Trek: Voyager,” and “Star Trek: Enterprise.”

New villains, remember. Which also puts to bed the part of Faraci's rumor about the Klingons.

New villains not New aliens. New Crews doesn't mean it won't be a federation ship, just that it won't be old characters. So New Villains could mean new Klingons we haven't seen before.

For that matter, it doesn't say New Ships, so maybe it's a ship we've seen?

It was a good teaser. I wonder how I'm going to differentiate "Star Trek" now. There's Star Trek (60s), Star Trek 09, and I guess Star Trek ('17). I kinda do miss the subtitle but I can live with it. Seeing the various planets in this trailer made me all excited and giddy.
Like we always have (TOS) (STNG) etc.

Maybe ST17

Logo looks abit 'gold key'. FX - JJ Treks end credits & Superman Returns opening. Score - abit Batman/Elfman opening theme.

My first thought was to wonder if they lifted it wholesale from Star Trek Online? The graphics and music kinda had that feel.

Interesting that they were permitted to run this CBS teaser just two days before the Paramount movie trailer when the TV series is required to wait six months after the movie.

Marketing is synergistic. Teasers will reinforce both. But they don't want the final product directly competing in the market space. (The 6 months probably also allows home media sales of ST Beyond to capitalize on new show interest, and vice versus.)

Right now an anthology seems possible, but I'd be willing to bet the rest of Faraci's story is definitely not.
The line in the sand just moved. Always throw some truth in with the lies.

But the release of this teaser is a sign that marketing will start quite soon.
Psst! The teaser is marketing.

1960s -- ST:TOS (The Original Series)
2010s -- ST:TNS (The New Series)
Hey! Stop reading my mind and taking credit. It's not polite.
