Trek 2017 TV Show Teaser

I'm not a fan of Anthology Trek show for the first show in 12 years. If this was a 2nd show than I'm fine with that. But different crew/characters just seems too different than following one crew and their adventures, you get more time with the crew.

“You didn’t think we were going to show you the cast, did you?” CBS president Les Moonves teased the eager audience. “It’s too early for that.”

CBS Studios debuted a teaser trailer and revealed the logo for the new Star Trek series today at the CBS upfront presentation for advertisers at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Les Moonves introduced the first elements for the show, which will premiere in January, 2017.

The upcoming Star Trek series, from CBS Studios, has Bryan Fuller on board as executive producer/show runner, Alex Kurtzman as executive producer and Nicholas Meyer as writer and consulting producer.

In the U.S., a special premiere episode will air on the CBS Television Network and all subsequent first-run episodes will be available exclusively on CBS All Access. The series will also be available on television stations and platforms in other countries around the world.

Production on the new Star Trek series will begin this fall in Toronto, Canada.

Logo looks abit 'gold key'. FX - JJ Treks end credits & Superman Returns opening. Score - abit Batman/Elfman opening theme.
Yes, stylistically, the visuals very much reminded me very much of JJ Trek and Superman Returns, though I doubt they were thinking of Superman Returns at all, as it's a mediocre movie from ten years ago.

And what's the deal with the Starfleet delta with the off-center split? :vulcan:

Good. It doesn't need to spoil anything. All this promo needed to do was legitimize the news that the show is coming, and reinforce that it's Star Trek and not "someone else's idea of a space party starring people in Star Trek uniforms." It did that, and I'm pleased.

Interesting that they were permitted to run this CBS teaser just two days before the Paramount movie trailer when the TV series is required to wait six months after the movie.

Right. If we're going to make assumptions about Star Trek, they should at least be "logical" assumptions.
