Trek 11: Let's see the predesscor Starships in background

Trek 11 : Let's see a few starship in the background as the Enterprise clears dock for the first time. Maybe seeing a U.S.S. Archer in the background would flow too.
The story should begin say a year after the NCC-1701 has been in service tha tway teh ship is running smooth and the film won't have a slow start like the Motion Picture did. We saw the " Enterprise launching for the first time" in The Motion Picture, The Wrath of Khan ( albeit done faster)and in Season 1 of Enterprise. Having the ships cadets on their first space trip done out of the Mars spacedock instead of Earth would be somethuing new too. How many films and Tv shows start out with the Starship in Earth Orbit. If Trek 11 starts with the Enterprise in orbit of Mars instead of Earth it makes plunking Ten bucks down to see the movie more worthwhile. The cadets would be ferried to the Utopia Planetia Dockyards under armored guard as they are the new kids on the block and the fresh youth of Starfleet.

Not a bad idea, I keep hoping that we'll eventually see a Daedalus-class ship, in some form of Trek.

The Daedalus-class starship is, IMHO, extremely ugly. I hope they don't show it on anything other than a picture.

They didn't launch the ship in TOS S1. It was already in service for an unspecified length of time - and had just been involved in an exciting and deadly mission - at the time of "The Cage", the first pilot. No spacedocks were seen until TMP.

yeah let's see some cool ships, no doubt..the daleaduus class we could see in another dock or something..tht way we could satisfy both camps..I'd love to see one myself

From what I've read so far, the 1701 is going to have been in service for at least 15-20 years by the time the movie supposedly takes place - bearing in mind she's 40 years old at the time of her destruction in TSFS. (Not 20, as that incompetent boob Morrow made out) With this in mind I expect she would have had most of her kinks ironed out!

I would like to see some sort of spacedock scene however. It was one of my favourite scenes in TWOK (and I reckon it'd be great to see the 1701 emerging from the same facility as she did in TMP - not too fussed about Mars TBH).

I'm sure we will have some background ships if we get such a scene - and since they'll be just background ships, thy can be as ugly as TPTB like (remember the craptastic designs like the Steamrunner and Saber from ST:FC?) /so yeah, I'd love to see a Daedalus too...

I'd like to see a painting of an NX-01 in the background in a scene or two. That will be enough to tie it into Enterprise.

Not long after Enterprise premiered, I thought “What would the generation starship look like that immediately preceded TOS starship we all know?” Kind of a stepping stone between the Daedalus and Constitution classes.

I kind of “reversed” engineered backwards, made the ship 30% smaller (since it seems that each new generation grew in size), though kept some engineering/design cues that we’ve seen on other variations – to keep a sense of continuity:
1. Docking Ports in Saucer (NX-01)
2. Docking Ports in Secondary/Engineering Hull (NCC-1701-A)
3. Rec-Deck/Arboretum windows (NCC-1701-A)
4. Lower Tractor Beam Emitter (NCC-1701)
5. Warp Pylons Flush Vents (NCC-1701-A)
6. Blue Warp “Glow” (NCC-1701-D)

I also did a few practical additions:
1. Exterior access panels for Main Engineering to help facilitate upgrades and repairs.
2. Dedicated exterior door directly to the Cargo Bay, just below the Shuttle Bay, to help expedite re-supply.

Plus a host of even smaller details that are way too numerous to mention.

I know that this would never see the light of day on any screen, but you never know how it might influence Prod. Designer Ryan Church ;-) (Though I'm also 99.9% sure everything has been finalized & signed off on)
